Matrix New World (a True Environmental company) is currently seeking a motivated individual as a Civil Project Engineer I with experience in site/civil engineering design and an entrepreneurial spirit to progress their career. This role in our Engineering practice group may involve projects throughout the country, with a focus on our existing business in the NJ and NY Metro-Region, Gulf Coast and other emerging markets related primarily to transit, transportation and infrastructure upgrades; flood resiliency and port development; public and private site development; renewable energy; and amusement/entertainment services.
Responsibilities:
Perform engineering tasks in the site/civil engineering field through the development of a working knowledge of applicable design criteria, regulatory requirements, standards and processes.
Provide turnkey project design effort to site/civil engineering projects, such as site layout/grading, roadway/trail/pedestrian facilities, utility design, stormwater management, erosion and sediment control elements, vehicular turning analyses, and hydraulic and hydrologic studies.
Proficient in tackling multiple projects simultaneously.
Utilize appropriate design and drafting software to facilitate efficient engineering designs.
Provide mentorship and technical guidance to staff engineers.
Provide project management of smaller projects under the guidance of Project Managers and Technical Leads.
Take initiative in task and project endeavors and client relationships where possible.
Support landscape architecture, structural, geotechnical and marine engineering teams on an as-needed basis.
Conduct condition assessments for short- and long-term assignments related to emergency or routine inspections.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related degree
3 years experience in civil engineering
Licensed Professional Engineer in one or more states or licensure in progress
Preferred Requirements:
Proficient in the use of AutoCAD in the development of Design and Construction Documents
Thorough understanding of state and local regulations
Capable of working on multiple projects in a dynamic, fast-paced team-oriented environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficient in MS Word and Excel and various civil software applications
