We are looking for a Helper to assist our land surveying crew chief in the field. This is a hands-on, outdoor position that involves working on construction sites, undeveloped land, and various project locations. Experience required.
What you'll do
- Assist the Crew Chief in setting up and operating surveying instruments
- Carry and set up equipment such as tripods, prisms, and GPS units
- Mark and stake property boundaries, construction sites, and elevation points
- Clear brush and obstacles from survey lines
- Record field notes and measurements as needed
- Ensure proper care and maintenance of survey tools and equipment
- Follow safety guidelines and work efficiently in all weather conditions
Minimum Requirements
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and terrains
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions
- Basic math and measurement skills
- Ability to lift and carry 50+ lbs of equipment
- Good physical condition and stamina for walking long distances
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred
- Experience in land surveying, construction, or outdoor labor is a plus but not required
