Matrix offers expertise in water resources; production well design, installation and testing; water system engineering; various water, pollutant, and land permitting; Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs); soil and groundwater characterization / remediation; petroleum leaking underground storage tank (LUST) site assessments; developing site assessment and remedial action plans; conceptual site model (CSM) development; design of drilling programs for installation of groundwater monitor wells and soil vapor extraction (SVE) wells; groundwater modeling; GIS and much more.

What you'll do

    • Perform engineering tasks in the civil/geotechnical engineering field through the development of a working knowledge of applicable design criteria, regulatory requirements, standards and processes.
    • Perform field supervision of drilling services and in-situ field testing.
    • Perform construction field observations.
    • Evaluate field data and prepare geotechnical reports for projects that relate to bridge and roadway foundations, building foundations, retaining wall systems, piles and drilled shafts, and slope stability of embankments.
    • Support civil and structural teams on an as-needed basis.
    • Conduct condition assessments for short- and long-term assignments related to emergency or routine inspections.

Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering program.

Preferred Qualifications

    • 1+ year of experience in geotechnical engineering
    • Engineer in Training certification. 
    • Proficient in the use of AutoCAD in the development of Design and Construction Documents
    • Capable of working on multiple projects in a dynamic, fast-paced team-oriented environment
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Proficient in MS Word and Excel
