Your Role:

TrueML is looking for an Engineering Manager, Data Platform who will lead a team of data engineers to architect, develop, and maintain data pipelines using the latest technologies.

Ideally, you have a proven track record in managing a group of world-class data engineers with demonstrated growth in their career development. You possess hands-on skills in designing and developing scalable solutions for data pipelines, including data infrastructure and data services. You also have experience working in a product-driven organization in collaboration with product managers, and going through product development cycles.

We’re looking for a strong self-starter who is confident in contributing to a developing data ecosystem and is dedicated to building a strong data foundation integral to the success of TrueML's mission. You should be passionate about data and determined to have a huge impact at TrueML.

What you'll do:

    • Lead, manage, and mentor a team of data engineers
    • Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver projects required for improving the data infrastructure, data services, and tools that are used in our data pipelines
    • Drive data quality across our data pipelines, and implement system controls for managing data quality
    • Perform code reviews and provide critical suggestions for fixes and improvementsDefine and manage SLA’s for all data platform processes running in production
    • Partner with data science and product managers to understand and identify data needs, translating business requirements into efficient and well documented data models to empower data-driven development
    • Lead efforts to scale our data infrastructure as we enter the hyper growth phase
    • Be an aggressive champion for data accessibility and integrity
    • Contribute to any and all data engineering development work as needed

You have:

    • BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related degrees
    • 2+ years of hands-on management experience
    • 5+ years of relevant experience with data engineering
    • Expertise in skills related to designing and developing data pipelines, ETL, data warehousing, and workflow systems.
    • Experience managing big data technologies like Snowflake, Google BigQuery, AWS Redshift, Apache Airflow, etc.
    • Experience with databases like RDBMS, NoSQL, and SQL.
    • Experience developing people through coaching, mentoring, and feedback
    • Experience building cross-functional relationships and working with other teams to deliver projects
    • Experience growing the technical expertise of a team through the use of state-of-the-art tools, technology, and processes
    • Advanced proficiency with Python, Java, or other programming language
    • Advanced SQL skills and very strong experience in scaling and optimizing schemas, performance tuning ETL pipelines
    • Experience in owning and defining SLAs for maintaining production processes
    • Robust written and verbal communication, able to effectively communicate with both technical and business partners
    • Desire to work in San Francisco.

$158,000 - $190,000 a year
Salary Disclosure: This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
