Quality Controls, a UFT company, is hiring an Outside Sales Specialist to cover the Metro DC, Maryland, Delaware territory.

You will establish/maintain relationships with municipalities, consulting engineers, and local general contractors working in the municipal market to promote sales and solutions represented by QC. Utilizing QC’s network of resources and partner companies, you will develop marketing strategies, exhibit at local trade shows, and strategize with your divisional team to optimize your territory’s sales potential through a variety of technologies and solutions.
 
The Outside Sales Specialist’s position is an outside sales role requiring you to meet and be comfortable conversing with consultants, treatment plant-level personnel and contractors. Plant level or direct sales activities require in-person consultation, demonstration, and problem-solving skills.


Candidates must reside in Metro DC or Maryland area.

What you will do:

    • Expand on existing relationships with end users, contractors, and engineers while building lasting relationships with new accounts.
    • Provide engineers and end users a professional level of product promotion/selection, support and follow up to ensure projects are successful and to maximize sales revenue.
    • Travel within an assigned sales territory.
    • Setup meetings, product promotion events, and relationship building activities to maintain frequent contact with your customer base.
    • Attend product training seminars and participate in local industry associations and tradeshows.
    • Travel to represented companies for training on an as-needed basis.
    • Work with end-users with a hands on approach.  This may entail assisting with commissioning new equipment.
    • Work with the inside sales staff to provide a managerial role for projects and the management thereof.
    • Provide monthly sales reporting including forecasting and insights to current bid activity.

Background/ Experience:

    • Previous water / wastewater / industrial valve sales experience a plus
    • 3+ years of sales experience
    • Exceptional communication skills; both verbal and written
    • Valid US Driver license
    • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or military experience with 4 years professional experience
    • The ability to travel overnight up to 20%.
    • Great organizational and relationship skills
    • Proficient with Microsoft 365 and familiarity with CRM systems

Compensation:

    • Base salary $80,000-$120,000 depending on experience
    • Base + commission
