We are headquartered in Novato, CA, 25 miles north of San Francisco, and we also have an office in Brisbane, CA, 10 miles south of San Francisco, and Basel, Switzerland. This position can be located in Novato or Brisbane.

Position Summary

Ultragenyx is seeking a scientist /senior scientist to join the DMPK group. The successful candidate is required to have solid training in pharmacokinetics and apply the knowledge and technical experience to address critical DMPK related issues to support drug discovery and development process in multi-disciplinary team setting. 

Responsibilities including, but not limited to:

    • Evaluate in vitro in vivo correlation in pre-clinical species to guide drug design and candidate selection
    • Design, conduct, interpretation and report PK and PK/PD experiments in pre-clinical species
    • Design and provide mechanistic interpretation for drug metabolism/transporter studies
    • Integrate pre-clinical data for human PK and dose prediction
    • Represent DMPK in project team
    • Prepare reports and documents for IND filings 


    • Ph.D. in pharmacokinetics/pharmaceutical sciences or related field with 0-5 years of experiences; or MS with more than 5 years relevant industrial experiences
    • Proficient with PK data analysis and results interpretation
    • Experiences with small molecules drug metabolism/transporter studies
    • Demonstrated leadership experiences with project teams
    • Ability to design, conduct and report  in vitro and in vivo studies to address ADME related issues
