Position Summary
The VP, US Marketing will be responsible for the development of marketing strategies and market growth plans and development of promotional materials for the US market.
The VP will work closely with internal teams such as Global Brand Strategy, brand marketing teams, field and medical teams to ensure an organized, well-aligned and integrated approach. The individual will be responsible for the portfolio’s social media and digital strategy, including management and oversight of the contact database and CRM program, working closely with internal marketing and patient support teams. 
The VP, US Marketing will be required to work closely with cross-functional teams as well as internal stakeholders from multiple departments. 
Responsible for corporate/program/product “voice” and brand consistency in all marketing and related communications/materials. 
Work closely with regional (xUS) heads to manage localization of materials.
In collaboration with Product Teams, oversees planning and implementation of scientific meetings and conferences.
Create and implement marketing programs that span from patient identification to therapy promotion to all audiences including prescribers and patients. Analyze the Return on Investment (ROI) for each promotion/program and communicate recommendations to the Commercial Leadership team. Works closely with the SVP NA to support efforts of sales campaigns
Maximizes sales and marketing contributions; manages key customers.Coordinates analysis of market research needs; recommends objectives and strategies. Provides input into the development of product promotional programs; oversees development of marketing materials and training programs. Works with agency and promotional planner to ensure all necessary information is prepared for assigned projects. Manages implementation of promotional programs by preparation and presentation of materials for sales and marketing management update meetings. Develop brand strategic and tactical plans. Manages product budget, recommends adjustments as required throughout the year. May assist with forecasting, developing and monitoring of sales forecasts and promotional budgets. Develops and manages product sales forecasts and promotional budget. Continued development and oversight of social and digital strategy; working closely with the brand teams to execute on the strategy. Oversee the annual brand planning process; working closely with the Global Brand teams. Manage and develop marketing services team. Lead large, complex, cross-functional projects, that are high exposure and high impact. Work collaboratively to develop high quality content/programs, educational and communication materials according to established timelines, procedures and on budget. Manage external and internal resources in the development of educational materials and event planning to meet objectives in a cost-efficient and timely manner. Effectively collaborate with Global Brand teams, Medical Affairs, Market Access, Routes to Care to accomplish goals and objectives. Successfully manage investment spend as per the approved plan.
Assist local markets in the execution of international physician speaker programs to drive program awareness, diagnostic and management objectives inclusive of program development, travel logistics, speaker selection, contracting/payment tracking and post-meeting reports. Lead day to day operational functions of the KOL database in cooperation with the Global Brand Marketing team including, but not limited to system administration, production of activity reports. Ensure that Ultragenyx maintains strong relationships with key global thought leaders.
BA/BS degree required. Advanced Degree in Marketing or Life Sciences preferred.
Minimum of 10-12 years of progressive experience in marketing in pharmaceutical/biotech experience required.  Strong leadership and management skills required. Minimum of 10 years of pharmaceutical/medical/medical support industry experience with related medical communications experience.
Experience in developing innovative marketing, educational and communication platforms .
Experience in managing external partners and heath care professionals to assist in the development of strategy and tactics.
Experience in digital marketing and CRM. Experience in event planning for conferences, meetings, etc.
Excellent analytical skills, well organized, and detail oriented.
Ability to think strategically and work independently; strong presentation skills.
Demonstrated ability to manage several large complex projects simultaneously.
Excellent interpersonal skills, negotiation, and leadership skills.
Comfortable working in a fast paced organization.
Experience planning and executing physician led speaker programs.
