Job Description
Ultranauts is looking to hire a full-time, remote Software Accessibility Tester, to join our team and be part of a high growth, high impact services company. Accessibility Testers are responsible for ensuring client products meet accessibility standards. Accessibility Testers work as part of specialized Ultranauts teams to conduct accessibility audits and execute in-depth accessibility testing using a comprehensive test suite developed by Ultranauts to precisely evaluate compliance. Accessibility Testers also have the opportunity to conduct design reviews, run training workshops, and support VPAT submissions based on their interests and skills.

Requirements

    • Extensive experience performing accessibility testing of websites and/or software applications in a professional capacity
    • Extensive experience working with accessibility tools, including screen readers, contrast checkers, and analysis tools (e.g. WAVE, aXe, JAWS, NVDIA, VO, TalkBack)
    • Understanding of WCAG 2.1 guidelines, how those guidelines relate to websites and applications, and how page structures and attributes affect accessibility
    • Proficiency using Jira or other bug reporting tools to track and report accessibility issues
    • Comfort joining scheduled team calls (and participating via video, audio or chat), providing regular status updates to the team, and meeting agreed upon deadlines for completion of work
    • Communicating work availability on a weekly basis, joining scheduled team calls (by phone or Google Hangout), and meeting agreed upon deadlines for completion of work

Physical Requirements

    • The ability to sit at a computer for extended periods of time
    • The ability to perform repetitive motions needed for typing and mouse use
