We are looking to hire a principal DevOps engineer to maintain projects and grow the technical capabilities of our team. Responsibilities include recommending adjustments to resolve architecture issues, improving the development flows, implementing CI/CD processes, and resource management with infrastructure as code. You should also be able to mentor, guide, and train other engineers.
To be successful as a principal DevOps engineer, you should be able to evaluate the application's needs and system limitations when on a project. A stand-out principal DevOps Engineer is one who is up to date on new technologies and best practices.
Skills
- Proven experience in managing a DevOps team
- Ability to develop and implement DevOps best practices
- Leadership skills to manage team members and provide guidance
- Experience in project management and resource allocation
- Strong knowledge of software development and IT operations
- Ability to evaluate and implement new technologies and tools
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Ruby
- Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes
- Knowledge of configuration management tools such as Ansible or Chef (nice to have)
- Understanding of continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
- Comfortable working in a Linux/Unix environment
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with developers, stakeholders, and other teams
