We are seeking a UI/UX Senior Designer who is a leader with excellent design knowledge and success producing functional and beautiful digital products. Your ability to work in a fast-paced environment while continuously delivering elevated design and aesthetics is paramount to your success.
Design
- Your design is recognized as best-in-class with aesthetically pleasing user interfaces focused on the client’s preferred platform and user types.
- You use your knowledge in emerging design trends and established design practices to deliver and promote best-in-class UI, UX and interaction designs.
- You continuously organize and structure complex problems to provide the best user experience.
- You uphold and lead the Umbrage Studio’s design and delivery standards.
- You design products with a Human Centered Design, solving user needs with deep customer empathy.
- You create wireframes, user flows, interaction prototypes and other design specification materials.
- You work closely with developers to turn the design into a functional digital product.
- You successfully participate as an individual and as a design leader in studio project teams consisting of developers, testers, and product team members.
- You are confident in providing updates on a regular basis to Studio leadership.
- You carefully identify risks to the completion of your assignment and communicate those risks to leadership.
Client
- You offer counsel to clients and cultivate a “part of our team” relationship.
- You engage clients to solicit their active engagement in brainstorming sessions with the goal to set artistic direction consistent with the clients’ vision.
- You explain and sell design decisions (e.g., wireframes, mood boards, high fidelity mock-ups, etc.) to clients and stakeholders.
- You are professional and composed when discussing concepts that may challenge clients and stakeholders.
Team
- You prioritize mentoring members of the design team and you coach fellow designers in current and evolving design best practices.
- You position yourself as a team-lead responsible for deliverables, responsibilities, and scheduling.
- You exhibit calm leadership focused on excellence in design regardless of the challenge.
- You provide structure and direction throughout the design process.
- You share your perspective while actively considering others' points of view.
- You receive and apply direction based upon client and leadership feedback.

Education, Experience and Key Skills
- You have a Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or equivalent experience in information design, interaction design, or human factors.
- You have six or more years in the digital design space.
- You have a portfolio of great design work, aesthetics, and the successful execution of projects.
- You have strong visual design sense and clean command over typography, interaction design, and usability.
- You have mastery of creative tools including Sketch and the Adobe Suite.
- You have experience leading client communications and client services.
- You can design for any client preferred platform, including iOS and Android native to Responsive Web.
