Umpqua Health is actively seeking a Financial Analyst to join our team. You will champion the financial planning and analysis function, demonstrating a commitment to self-development and fostering a culture of continuous learning within the team. Responsible for collaborating with executive leadership, the candidate will drive critical insights, establish ambitious financial goals, and align strategic initiatives with the company's growth trajectory. Proficiency in forecasting, modeling, and financial strategy is essential, with a focus on enhancing accuracy and identifying early warning indicators. The candidate will contribute strategic financial planning assistance, evaluating investment opportunities, conducting due diligence, and supporting capital allocation decisions. Strong project management skills, effective communication of complex financial information, and a dedication to compliance and continuous improvement are integral to success in this role. The position requires adaptability, problem-solving acumen, and a proactive approach to addressing challenges in a dynamic financial environment. 

Your Impact:

    • Responsible for driving the financial planning and analysis function, providing critical insights and recommendations to support our company's growth strategies and financial objectives
    • Collaborate with executive leadership to establish ambitious financial goals and strategic initiatives that align with the company's growth trajectory in the market
    • Develop and refine robust financial models and forecasting methodologies to assess business performance, predict future outcomes, and support growth planning
    • Contribute to the development of financial strategies that support and accelerate the company's growth objectives
    • Evaluate investment opportunities and conduct financial analysis, due diligence, and return on investment assessments to support capital allocation decisions
    • Evaluates complex business environment by conducting financial assessments (e.g., Situational, Strengths/Weaknesses/Opportunities/Threats, Opportunity-Based Strategic Planning, system value chain analysis); and interpreting reports summarizing business, financial, or economic data
    • Creates forecasts in accordance with business strategic initiatives by analyzing and interpreting budgeting trends; reviewing results of budget and forecasting; coordinating with others to develop department/regional budgets; and making recommendations
    • Conducts financial modeling by developing best-practice and complex models; analyzing and optimizing risk alternatives; and developing, reviewing, and recommending what-if scenarios and forecasts using in-house models or software
    • Completes costing activities by identifying and suggesting cost avoidance and cost recovery opportunities
    • Improves financial performance by analyzing financial trends; and in partnership with the business leaders, uses results of analysis and understanding of operations to identify actions that address operational performance issues
    • Informs strategic financial planning by performing and evaluating complex financial, utilization, and benchmark analytics
    • Assists with strategic financial planning by preparing recommendations for financial plans, acquisition activity, financial requirements, and operating forecasts; and developing and interpreting financial concepts for financial planning and control
    • Perform other duties as assigned by management needed to help drive to our Vision, fulfill our Mission, and abide by our Organization’s Values.

Your Credentials:

    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, economics, or statistics
    • Five (5) experience in Financial Planning & Analysis in healthcare
    • Proficiency in conducting thorough analyses of internal and external factors, formulating strategic initiatives, and providing actionable recommendations.
    • A track record of successfully contributing to the alignment of business goals with overarching strategic plans, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of industry trends, competitive landscapes, and key drivers that impact organizational success.
    • Excellent written, oral, presentation, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office. Experience with data mining systems, Business Objects, and SAS are a plus. Proficiently demonstrate intermediate-level proficiency in programming languages crucial for conducting comprehensive data analysis.
$75,000 - $85,000 a year
