We are hiring Summer Interns to accelerate our efforts within data exploration. Your main tasks will be to analyze and visualize data, provide insights to product development initiatives, and to empower Unacast to improve its data quality and make better data-driven decisions in general.
Your role will actively contribute to improving existing and new products, ensuring high data quality on both supply and demand side, data scoring and fraud detection. The summer interns will work closely with our team of data scientists and data engineers.
Your main hub will be our spectacular Oslo offices on Karl Johan and the suggested work period is from late June until mid August with a couple of weeks break in July.
We run our technical stack on Google Cloud, and you will get the chance to work with Google’s cutting-edge technology BigQuery, DataFlow, Cloud Functions, and AppEngine. Data visualisations will mainly be done in the industry leading visualization tool Tableau. We're not demanding that you have experience with these tools, all we ask is that you are willing to learn something new every day.
To us, innovation is the ability to tackle the challenges we don't currently know we have before someone else does it. For that reason, we acknowledge that we need a diverse team with different background and experience.
We want to give you a chance to show off your abilities with a small work sample. It should not take more than a couple of hours to complete and hopefully you will learn something along the way.

You should be able to set up a trial Account on Google Cloud Platform which will give you plenty of credits to run these queries.
Answer the following questions:
- What day of week has the most rides in 2014?
-How has the ratio of payments in cash and by credit card developed over time?
-What is the most popular area to be picked up in 2014, disregarding airports
You should submit both the SQL statements used to extract data and visual that present your answer in a user friendly way. You can use any type of visualisation tool you want (including Excel). If anything is unclear, feel free to make assumptions and state them in your response.

- Further, develop and maintain our current products
- Gain new insights about our location data through analysis and visualization
- Make data accessible and dependable within the organization
- Work with data modelling and data management
- Pursuing a masters in mathematics, software development or similar
- Comfortable with at least one programming language
- Fluency in English
- Experience within data analysis and visualizations is a plus
