Uncountable is looking for an Solutions Architect / Engineering Manager to lead our Software Engineering for Chemistry Applications team. In this role, you’ll collaborate directly with both internal engineers and external stakeholders at some of the world’s leading materials and chemical companies. You will guide your team in building scientific applications and integrating enterprise systems with Uncountable’s platform, helping customers transform how R&D gets done. You’ll be at the intersection of leadership, technical architecture, and customer engagement—contributing to Uncountable’s mission of accelerating innovation across industries like chemicals, coatings, pharma, and more.

$130,000 - $150,000 a year
Responsibilities
Lead and mentor the Software Engineer for Chemistry Applications team, fostering growth, collaboration, and technical excellence.
Own and drive data architecture and integration conversations during both pre-sales and post-sales cycles, working directly with advanced prospects and existing enterprise customers.
Collaborate with Implementation Managers and Account Managers to scope complex technical solutions that meet scientific and IT requirements.
Coordinate with the core engineering team to ensure product alignment with custom integration work.
Shape our customer engagement model for technical discussions—acting as a technical point of contact for architecture, data pipelines, and integration best practices.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, or Computer Science/Engineering.
3–4 years of experience in a software and/or implementation-oriented role
Experience managing or mentoring technical teams, preferably in scientific, SaaS, or data-heavy domains.
Proficiency with RESTful APIs, SFTP, and other common enterprise data integration methods.
Strong working knowledge of Python and scripting best practices.
Familiarity with ERP platforms like SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or Infor is a strong plus.
Excellent communication skills—you’ll be interfacing with customers and translating technical challenges into actionable plans.
Comfort navigating complex technical discussions with a wide variety of stakeholders, from R&D scientists to enterprise IT architects.
