Under the general direction of the Environmental Manager, this individual will independently apply professional knowledge and experience to complete projects of routine to average complexity.

Job Responsibilities:

    • Provides technical assistance under the direction and review of Project Managers on a variety of projects.
    • Has knowledge of Missouri and Illinois state environmental regulatory programs (i.e., Tanks, RCRA, B/VCP), as well as USEPA programs (i.e., Superfund). Collects field data, analyzes and interprets field data, and prepares technical reports and deliverables for clients.
    • Typical project work may include Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), Phase II ESAs, soil/groundwater/soil vapor sampling and testing, soil boring observation/logging, boring log preparation, monitoring well installation observation, groundwater monitoring, air sampling and testing, geological site characterizations, underground storage tank (UST) closure, Voluntary Cleanup Program (VCP) project coordination, risk assessment, remediation design assistance, and remediation system observation.
    • May be assigned the responsibility of on-site management of complex field projects or at locations distant from office.
    • Performs technical work with competence and displays maturity in making decisions relative to the direction of projects.
    • Reviews or develops field and laboratory activities for consistency with project goals and objectives.
    • Prepares proposals for routine to average projects and assists more senior staff with development of scope or cost on more complex projects.

Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Geology required. M.S. in specialty field is desired.
    • Registered Professional Geologist license (Missouri and/or Illinois is preferred), or Geologist Registrant in Training.
    • Five to seven years of progressively responsible experience in environmental consulting, with emphasis on environmental geology, site characterizations, and environmental due diligence.
    • Good oral and written communication skills, including good technical writing capabilities.
    • Accuracy and detail in performing technical assignments.
