Overview:

Under the general direction of a supervisor, the Geophysics Project Manager independently applies professional knowledge and experience to complete projects of routine to high complexity. The individual provides technical direction, independently interacts with clients, prepares and presents technical presentations to clients, prepares proposals, manages projects, evaluates and interprets data, and prepares reports.
Job Responsibilities:
- Project management of public and commercial/industrial geophysics projects and geophysical tasks that are part of internal company projects.
- Responsible for project business development and client relationship management.
- Attend professional society functions and exhibit/present at conferences.
- Coordinate RFP and RFQ processes to initiate teaming opportunities.
- Exhibit technical expertise in a variety of geophysical survey methods including cross-hole and downhole seismic, seismic reflection and refraction, cross-hole seismic tomography, electromagnetics, ground penetrating radar, electrical resistivity, induced polarization, multichannel analysis of surface waves, refraction microtremor, spontaneous potential, vibration monitoring, acoustic televiewer, borehole geophysical logging and radio frequency line locating.
- Exhibit leadership qualities and be willing to do what needs to be done to complete projects on time and within proposed budgets.
- Implement and follow corporate and project-specific health and safety procedures.
- Supervise and train junior-level staff in fieldwork, report writing, and project management.
- Prepare project deliverables and peer review documents from junior-level staff or other office groups.
- Understand sensitive contract issues such as limitations of liability, indemnification, reliance, and dispute resolution.
- Prepare proposals and cost estimates using logical and consistent procedures.
- Manage project budgets, payable invoices, and receivable invoices.
- Expected part-time travel in the areas of the country as needed.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Geophysics, Geology, Engineering, or related field.
- Seven to ten years of experience in the technical field of choice, with recognizable achievements (minimum of three years at the management level).
- Professional registration is not required but would be expected to be attained by state and degree, if applicable.
