Grubbs, Hoskyn, Barton & Wyatt, LLC, a Universal Engineering Sciences (UES) Company, has an opening in our Construction Services Department. UES is a nationwide leader in Geotechnical Engineering, Construction Materials Testing and Inspection, Building Code Compliance, Environmental, Occupational Health & Safety, and Building Envelope.

Your role as a Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Technician will put you at the forefront of projects transforming communities. You will become an expert in concrete and soils field sampling, testing procedures, verification procedures, and the application of various construction materials. With projects ranging from complex roadway construction to single-family residential communities, you will gain the knowledge and experience necessary to take your skills to the next level. 

Job Responsibilities:

    • Performing field materials testing of soil, asphalt, masonry and concrete
    • Perform special inspection for shallow and deep foundations
    • Train and mentor other technicians
    • Completing field reports with test results
    • Performing basic laboratory tests on soil and concrete
    • Communicating with clients, contractors and engineers regarding construction issues

Qualifications:

    • High School Diploma (or equivalent)
    • Construction experience is required. Prior experience in field testing is preferred
    • ACI Level 1 Concrete, Soils, Basic Aggregates are preferred
    • Ability to write reports and correspondence
    • Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 70 lbs and walk or stand continuously throughout the day
    • Willing to participate in and pass our pre-employment screening including a background check, drug screening and driving record.
    • A valid, clean driver's license, as travel to job sites is required.
