As a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Financial Accounting & IFRS and GAAP Standards at UnlikelyAI, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our Decision Intelligence Platform. Your expertise in accounting and compliance will directly influence the development of AI-driven solutions designed to enhance financial disclosure processes for UK accountancy firms. Key Responsibilities:

Act as internal Subject Matter Expert (SME) on Financial Compliance and Accountancy Practices 
Validate platform inputs for accuracy and regulatory alignment
Design explainable audit processes and documentation
Collaborate with technical teams on feature development
Ensure platform compliance with UK financial regulatory requirements
Contribute to product strategy and development roadmap

Required Skills:

Technical Accounting Expertise:

Professional Qualification: ACA, ACCA, or equivalent with a focus on UK compliance.
Financial Statements: Experience preparing financial statements under UK GAAP (FRS 102) and IFRS
FRS 102 Section 1A: Deep understanding of disclosure requirements.
Audit & Compliance: Experience with audit documentation and disclosure checklist execution.
Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of Companies Act 2006, AML, and GDPR.

Practical Experience:

Experience in identifying and documenting related-party transactions.
Ability to validate lease classifications under IFRS 16.
Expertise in tailoring compliance processes for different entity types.

Desirable Skills:

Technical Insight - Familiarity with accounting software such as Caseware, Xero, and QuickBooks.
Process Design - Experience designing audit trails and compliance documentation.
Understanding of data protection and anti-fraud frameworks.
