The Business Intelligence (BI) Sr Analyst will be responsible for performing detailed analysis, producing new and existing reports, dashboards, scorecards, and other data products. Working with a team of Business Intelligence Portfolio/ Reporting Analysts in Phoenix, this person will play a key role in developing and maintaining BI solutions within the organization and other team members to ensure performance and reliability. The ideal candidate will also analyze information obtained from the BI solutions, verify accuracy, and make recommendations that drive advancement within the organization. Candidate must be capable of delivering high-quality deliverables, on time, with careful attention to detail.
-Partner with the business understanding and driving key metrics
-Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and scorecards using Tableau and SQL with a self driving initiative
-Lead reporting on operational metrics on a recurring basis to drive actionable insight
-Provide actionable insight to operational needs through reporting and forecasting
-Assist business with KPI’s and helping maintain best in class SLA’s
-Work collaboratively, cross-functionally and interface with stakeholders and other analysts on business requirements
-Assist with forecasts and reporting requirements for internal business users
-Effectively communicate (written and verbal) technical subject matter to non-technical business stakeholders
-Minimum of 7+ years of experience in a quantitative/analysis/reporting role in outside industry; OR 5+ years of experience in analytics/reporting within the Financial Services industry
-Advanced knowledge of SQL required; (PostgreSQL a plus)
-Knowledge of Python, command line, and batch files a plus
-Minimum of 3 year of experience using a major BI data or visualization solution (Tableau experience is a plus)
-Analyzing data and trends in an operational or production based environment
-Team-player with superior interpersonal skills who can work closely with both technical development teams and end business users
-Effective written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
-Experience documenting BI requirements and developing reports based on user requirements
-Sense of ownership and responsibility towards problems and solutions
-Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly and smoothly to a rapidly changing environment
Candidates should be prepared to:
1) Share or discuss examples of work within a BI Solution (Tableau Preferred) you’ve created and communicate key competencies with regards to their creation
2) Share or discuss examples of SQL, Python, Excel, Google Sheets or other reporting items you’ve created that showcase your expertise with the skill sets outlined above
3) Be prepared to answer technical data questions about Tableau and SQL.
4) Be prepared to demonstrate problem solving skills by answering questions about hypothetical challenges with regards to Tableau and or SQL
