The Marketing team at UpGuard includes multiple marketing and design functions, including Product Marketing, Demand Gen, Marketing Ops, Content Marketing, SEO, Community, Design, and Video. UpGuard’s vision is to become a leader in the markets we play in (Cyber VRM, Attack Surface Management) by providing a best-in-class SaaS platform for organizations to manage their third-party risk and external attack surface. Our purpose as a Marketing team is to facilitate this goal by growing UpGuard with a repeatable and scalable marketing engine and a leading brand.
Why are we hiring for this role?
This role is a crucial position within UpGuard's marketing team, focusing on enhancing our SaaS website's user experience and visual design. You'll be instrumental in shaping how users interact with our digital presence, from initial discovery to engaging with complex tools and content. This role requires a strong blend of UI and UX skills, ensuring both aesthetic appeal and intuitive functionality. You'll work closely with a cross-functional web team, including developers, content strategists, and SEO specialists, to create high-performing, engaging, and conversion-optimised web experiences that align with our strategic objectives and resonate with our target audience.
What will you do?
- Drive UpGuard's UI/UX Design Forward: Take ownership of the user interface and user experience design for UpGuard's website, ensuring a consistent, intuitive, and visually appealing experience across all pages and devices.
- Design Interactive Content: Drive the design and user flow for online tools, calculators, and other interactive/programmatic content, transforming complex concepts into engaging and easy-to-use web applications.
- Collaborate with Developers and key project stakeholders: Work hand-in-hand with developers to ensure designs are technically feasible and implemented accurately, and collaborate with marketing, content and SEO teams to optimise page layouts for performance and discoverability.
- Conduct User Research: Participate in user research, A/B testing, and gather feedback to inform design decisions, continually iterating to improve user engagement and conversion rates.
- Maintain Design Systems: Contribute to and maintain our website's design system and style guides, ensuring brand consistency and efficiency in design execution.
- Optimise for Performance: Design with web performance and responsiveness in mind, ensuring fast loading times and optimal display on various screen sizes.
What will you bring?
- SaaS Website Design Experience: Proven experience (5+ years) as a Web Designer, specifically with a strong portfolio showcasing successful design projects for SaaS websites.
- Strong UI/UX Proficiency: Demonstrable expertise in both User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX) design principles, with a keen eye for detail and a user-centric approach.
- Interactive Content Design: Hands-on experience designing online tools, calculators, and programmatic or interactive web content, understanding the unique challenges and best practices for such assets.
- Collaborative Mindset: Excellent ability to work effectively within a cross-functional team, managing stakeholder expectations, gathering feedback, and contributing to shared project goals.
- Design Software Proficiency: Strong skills in industry-standard design tools (e.g., Figma).
- Problem-Solving & Creativity: An innovative mindset with the ability to translate business requirements into creative and effective design solutions.

- Understanding of front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and CMS tools to facilitate better collaboration with developers.
- Experience with animation and micro-interactions to enhance user engagement.
- Familiarity with A/B testing platforms and analytics tools for design optimisation.
- Experience working in growth marketing.
- Experience working in a cybersecurity or B2B tech environment.
- A self-starter attitude with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
