For the past 6+ years, we at Upright Project have been building a new way to measure impact. From the very beginning, we have been committed to focusing on the big picture, while making sure our data is backed by science, comparable and credible. Today, our Net Impact Platform is the world’s largest open access impact database providing access to over 10,000+ company profiles. And this is just the beginning of our journey.

We are looking for a Senior Specialist of Impact Data to join the team as we continue to build the world’s leading impact data model. As the Senior Specialist of Impact Data, you will be responsible for managing the development of the net impact data’s environment dimension including the whole funnel spanning from methodology to final results. You will independently manage development projects and their execution. In addition, you will be the internal spokesperson for the environmental impact discourse and continuously communicate the news and learning to your team members.

This will be a new role for Upright, which means you will have the opportunity to influence the scope and structures of the role, and help us take the company to the next level as we continue to build and scale our net impact data.

SIGNS FOR BEING A GREAT MATCH WITH THIS ROLE INCLUDE:

    • Background in environmental perspectives (e.g. in the areas of environmental impacts, GHG calculations or LCA methodologies)
    • Strong proficiency in data development methodologies
    • Strong ability to think analytically and logically and structure your work proactively
    • Expertise in staying abreast of and contributing to impact discussions within the relevant area
    • Attention to both the essence - as well as details - of data development
    • Strong sense of ownership and willingness to get your hands dirty
    • Solid track record of internal passion for excellence: you have gotten things done clearly better than what was required/expected from you, as you enjoy doing things well
    • Sense of urgency and drive to get the job done with tight deadlines
    • Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing

ADDITIONALLY, WE VALUE THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Experience in data modeling and leading data development
    • Academic background and networks within the scientific community
    • Strong presentation skills
    • Understanding of SaaS business models and scalability optimization
    • Understanding of business models and impact drivers within industries with heavy environmental burden like energy or transportation

WHAT WE OFFER:

    • A chance to join a quickly growing and highly ambitious impact SaaS company with a mission that matters
    • A fun and kind team with exceptional people who care about what they do
    • Exciting professional growth opportunities
    • Competitive compensation, including stock options and a comprehensive health care package
MISSION THAT MATTERS
Upright is on a mission to incentivize companies to optimize their net impact by enabling science-based decision-making for investors, customers, employees, and public sector agents. To do that, Upright develops a proprietary data model based on an open-access database of 200M+ scientific articles and artificial intelligence to quantify the net impact of companies on people, planet, society, and knowledge creation. In addition to net impact, Upright produces data on UN SDG alignment, EU taxonomy, and EU SFDR PAI indicators. Currently, our impact data platform is used by 200+ institutional investors and companies, such as Nasdaq, Nordea, Royal Bank of Canada, EQT and Nokia.
