Primary Responsibilities:

    • Clean sheet design of valves, pumps, sensors, actuators, and other engine components
    • Design modification of existing components and prototypes to improve performance or resolve limitations
    • Structural and Thermal analysis of assemblies and components using simplified as well as Finite Element Analysis (FEA) techniques.
    • Coordinating with outside vendors to procure parts and components
    • Collaborating with team members to write, review, and update work instructions for assembly of engine components
    • Assembly of first article prototypes

Qualifications

    • US CITIZENSHIP OR PERMANENT RESIDENCY IS REQUIRED
    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Master's is a plus)
    • Demonstrated proficiency with Computer Aided Design and Drawings using PTC Creo or similar
    • Experience with GD&T per ASME Y14.5
    • Working knowledge of and hands-on experience with fluid, mechanical, and electrical systems
    • Experience with structural/thermal analysis using FEA software
    • Willingness to own component or subsystem specification, prototyping, testing, integration, and troubleshooting
    • Desire to take ownership and help wherever needed on the team

Desirable Experience

    • Design for metal additive manufacturing processes
    • Liquid propellant rocket engine design, test, or analysis
    • Significant test program facility design and operation experience
    • 4+ years of relevant mechanical design experience
    • 3+ years of ProE / Windchill
