UltraViolet Cyber is seeking an experienced Network Security Engineer supporting a Zero Trust Architecture deployment for a large-scale network enterprise environment. This resource will be supporting a team of technical security engineering resources ensuring a successful implementation. These individuals will play a key role in designing, testing, implementing, optimizing the infrastructure to support this deployment.

Must be legally allowed to work in the US, and the work must be done in the US.

Responsibilities

    • Key resource in supporting an enterprise Zero Trust Architecture deployment.
    • Identifying risks across network infrastructure that would lead to the exposure of sensitive data, unauthorized access, or loss of availability and prioritizing remediation efforts to address gaps.
    • Influence security direction of network hardware, software, and infrastructure to protect the network integrity of critical systems.
    • Conceptualize and lead efforts towards building sustainable and scalable network layer security controls and tooling.
    • Mentor and evangelize security practices through cross functional work with engineering teams to ensure a successful ZTA deployment.

Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
    • 7+ years of total experience in offensive/defensive security, or systems engineering.
    • 1+ years of experience supporting a zero trust architecture deployment
    • Experience leading complex cross-functional programs.
    • Experience with an interpreted or compiled programming language (Python, GO, C++, etc).
    • Knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, computer networking, routing, and switching), and Unix based systems.
    • Experience researching, building, and implementing defensive security controls which defend against internal and external attack vectors.
    • Experience leveraging layered security models to defend critical network infrastructure.
    • Experience evaluating and testing new vendor platforms and in house network initiatives for security issues.
    • Expertise in understanding threat models to better protect against attacks or detect new vectors.
    • Strong understanding of implementation and scaling of access controls across both host and network layers.
    • Experience leading network efforts to investigate, prevent, and mitigate security incidents.
    • Develop automation and utilize frameworks to scale both protection and mitigation tools beyond doing everything manually or repetitively (ex. I process/make firewall changes, vs. I built or used a system to scale and make multiple changes).
    • US Citizen, must pass a government background investigation.

Minimum Requirements:

    • 7+ years of total experience in offensive/defensive security, or systems engineering.
    • 1+ years of experience supporting a zero trust architecture deployment
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
    • Cybersecurity related certification
    • US Citizen, must pass a government background investigation.

$125,000 - $140,000 a year
UltraViolet Cyber maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect our company's differing products, industries and lines of business. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
