UltraViolet Cyber is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with expertise in developing in Rust, Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure. This technical role supports high-profile customers by developing and maintaining containerized environments. The ideal candidate will be a driven, self-starting software engineer with a strong track record of delivering scalable, secure solutions. This role works closely with engineering and operations teams to implement automation and cloud-native solutions, driving innovation and efficiency across the organization.

What You'll Do:

    • Develop, contribute, and deploy scripts and applications that assist in the transport and enrichment of in-flight observability data. (Rust, Python, Node/JS)
    • Architect, design, and deploy Kubernetes (K8s) clusters, focusing on scalability, security, and efficiency.
    • Develop and optimize containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes, ensuring seamless CI/CD integration.
    • Collaborate with DevOps teams to build automated deployment pipelines and implement cloud-native solutions in AWS and/or GCP.
    • Translate business and technical requirements into well-architected development tasks, working directly with platform users to optimize their infrastructure.
    • Implement and maintain DevSecOps best practices, integrating security into CI/CD workflows.
    • Provide expertise on Kubernetes cluster management, including autoscaling, monitoring, and performance optimization.
    • Maintain and optimize cloud environments, leveraging AWS (S3, EC2, VPC, etc.) and/or GCP services.

What You Have:

    • 5+ years of experience in software engineering, specializing in SaaS, DevOps, container orchestration, and cloud infrastructure.
    • Expertise in Rust programming language
    • Working understanding of Buck2 and/or Bazel.
    • Deep hands-on experience with Kubernetes for container orchestration, including deployment, scaling, and cluster maintenance.
    • Experience developing and deploying applications in AWS and/or GCP environments.
    • Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and related automation tools. (e.g. Jenkins, GitHub Actions)
    • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker, and familiarity with other container runtimes like cri-o, Podman, or containerd.
    • Familiarity with container runtime APIs and programmatically interacting with Kubernetes (beyond kubectl) is a plus.
    • Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Nagios or Splunk is a plus.
    • Development experience in one or more programming languages (e.g., Rust, Python, Golang, Java, JavaScript, PHP).
    • Experience working with immutable operating systems like Flatcar or CoreOS is a plus.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an emphasis on performance optimization and security.

$130,000 - $155,000 a year
UltraViolet Cyber maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect our company's differing products, services, industries and lines of business. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors.
