Overview:

    • College graduate with an Electrical Engineering Degree with 0-4 years of experience working for an engineering consulting company, Utility, or in the Oil & Gas industry. This individual interfaces with client engineering representatives and other discipline engineers within the Valdes organization.

Responsibilities include the following:

    • Entry level knowledge within the Electrical Engineering discipline with the capabilities and the initiative to perform the following tasks with supervisory/mentor assistance as required:
    • Ability to learn technical skills and assist with high, medium, and low voltage power systems.
    • Become familiar with and assist with substation design, short circuit analysis, and ARC flash studies
    • Assist with development of wiring diagrams and schematics
    • Assist in preparing relay protection schemes using microprocessor relays.
    • Assist with electrical calculations including AC/DC load calculations, short circuit, load flow, arc flash, motor starting, harmonic, device coordination and voltage drop
    • Design conduit, cable tray and underground duct bank
    • Verify field conditions as needed
    • All other duties as assigned by a supervisor or management

Instrumentation & Controls Duties:

    • Good verbal and written communication skills
    • Knowledge of AutoCAD
    • SKM electrical modeling software a plus
    • Solid Microsoft Office Skills

Technical Competencies:

Qualifications:

    • Education: Bachelor of Science Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering
    • Experience: 0-3 Years of experience working as an Electrical Engineer
    • Eligible to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future
    • Flexibility to travel to client site when needed (25-30% travel)
