Summary:
 
Vaxcyte is seeking to hire a talented individual to join our Commercial team.  The Associate Director, New Product Planning will assume the critical role of strategically evolving our company-wide commercial planning to align with our business goals as we progress towards our first commercial launch.  You will be a strategic partner, collaborating across the company and specifically with members of the Finance, Supply Chain, and Executive teams to ensure our strategic and commercial forecasts are aligned with internal and external assumptions and provides a ‘single source of truth’ for planning purposes.  

Commercial Forecasting:

    • Develop the commercial forecast for the annual budget and quarterly estimate process in close collaboration with key stakeholders across the company.
    • Drive discussion and decision process with senior leadership about likely scenarios to include in the commercial forecast – by synthesizing relevant internal and external information and assumptions.
    • Continually advance the commercial forecast (scenarios) as internal and external assumptions change.
    • Review on a regular basis Global product pricing assumptions (incl. gross to net) versus market pricing and emerging Health Economics landscape.
    • Understand the Global recommendation and reimbursement landscape and competitive product approvals.
    • Utilize market research and competitive intelligence to identify relevant scenarios.
    • Guide demand planning and provide inputs on supply planning.

Strategic Pipeline Forecasting:

    • Develop long-term forecasts for new products, considering unmet needs, market dynamics and potential value.
    • Provide input to portfolio planning process to help maximize the economic and public health value and impact of the overall product portfolio.
    • Act as a strategic thought partner for early clinical-stage program teams, providing insights and guidance to ensure informed decision-making at the program level.
    • Develop a deep understanding of market dynamics, competitive landscapes, unmet needs, and Vaxcyte’s technology platform to lead the generation and analysis of required evidence to support product value.
    • Collaborate closely with Research, Development, Commercial, Finance, CMC and additional functions maximize the value of our programs.

Other:

    • Prepare and present analyses, materials and recommendations to senior leadership as needed and as appropriate.
    • Collaborate closely with Finance as we continue the journey towards revenue.
    • Build a team to help support growing demand for commercial planning.

Requirements:

    • BA/BS in Business, Marketing, General Management, Biotechnology, or related field required.
    • MBA preferred, with an understanding of vaccine development and value creation in the biopharmaceutical. industry, and commitment to learn about the science behind our platform technology.
    • Minimum 10 years of commercial experience in one or more of the following functions within the (bio)pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or vaccine industry: finance, marketing, product launches, strategy, commercial operations, or related function.
    • 2+ years with Venture capital, Private Equity or management consulting experience preferred.
    • Emerging experience with successful people management providing mentorship, leadership, and growth.
    • Strong knowledge of commercial modeling, especially for the US market.
    • Excellent strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong analytical, mathematical, statistical, and conceptual skills; experience in and comfortable with using data to drive decisions; Excel expertise.
    • Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills and the highest standards for accuracy and precision.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; communicates complex ideas in clear and easy to understand language; builds constructive and effective relationships.
    • Good at figuring out processes necessary to get things done; knows how to organize people and activities, can be counted on to achieve and exceed goals.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, managing multiple projects and priorities.

Location: San Carlos, CA
 
Compensation:
The compensation package will be competitive and includes comprehensive benefits and an equity component.
 
Salary Range: $224,000 – $243,000
