The Role

The Veeva Labs team builds and maintains products used by both Veeva and Veeva customers. Veeva Labs also incubates new products which, if taken to market, get absorbed into other Veeva organizations. We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to help build and maintain a robust, scalable, and operational infrastructure to support multiple products in a dynamically changing environment. Your focus will be ensuring Veeva's product updates are delivered quickly and with the best quality possible. What You'll Do

    • Implement DevOps practices such as infrastructure as code, continuous integration, and automated deployment
    • Develop, deploy, and manage CI/CD workflows, automating tasks across the full lifecycle to enhance developer experience and efficiency
    • Construct, manage, and deploy infrastructure utilizing Helm, Terraform, and Kubernetes
    • Recommend architectural enhancements, design, and integration solutions, and establish methodologies and best practices
    • Aim to minimize the risk of reliability-related failures, focusing on durability, availability, performance, and correctness
    • Be a strong advocate and enforcer of test driven development and automated testing

Requirements

    • Experience in programming in Python, Java, Scala, Go, or similar languages
    • Understanding of the AWS Cloud platform and infrastructure as code
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Familiarity with CI/CD workflow tools
    • Candidates must be located within commuting distance to our Pleasanton office, as you will be expected to come into the office 3 days a week

Nice to Have

    • Proficient in developing in Python
    • Experience with Jira
    • Experience in DevOps roles, emphasizing tooling, automation, and development of distributed systems is a plus
    • Proficiency in designing and implementing applications using Container and serverless technologies
    • Experience with Terraform, Kubernetes, and Helm
    • Familiarity with monitoring frameworks to track infrastructure and application health and performance
    • Experience with continuous integration tools (e.g., Jenkins, CircleCI, Codefresh)

Compensation

    • Base pay: $85,000 - $160,000
    • The salary range listed here has been provided to comply with local regulations and represents a potential base salary range for this role. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range above or below, depending on experience and location. We look at compensation for each individual and base our offer on your unique qualifications, experience, and expected contributions. This position may also be eligible for other types of compensation in addition to base salary, such as variable bonus and/or stock bonus.
