The Role

The General Manager, Japan Commercial, will be responsible for all aspects of Veeva’s Commercial business in Japan including sales and strategy. They will be responsible for the go to market and coordination of all Veeva Japan’s commercial functions (marketing, services, product and data) as well as the lead person for Japan employee success.

The individual will lead a team of life sciences industry and technology A-players, who, together, are bringing the next generation of applications and capabilities to the life sciences industry. This role reports to the GM, Veeva Asia.

What You'll Do

    • Ensure Customer Success for all Veeva customers in Japan, and ensure Veeva is viewed as a strategic partner to the life science industry
    • Build and grow executive customer relationships in Japan
    • Hit targets for key metrics (revenue, services profitability, new customers, etc.)
    • Ensure our products, HR practices, and operating model are effective in Japan
    • Create tailored local Sales and Services models and decide on focus products
    • Build the Japan Commercial Leader Team & drive change
    • Attract, hire, manage, and motivate an engaged team of “A-players”
    • Manage all Employees Success aspects of Veeva Japan, partnering with  R&D and Support Function leaders as needed

Requirements

    • 15+ Years work experience
    • Experience in Enterprise software sales or services
    • Has built and managed a large team (30 people or more)
    • Successful track record in field leadership roles
    • Native Japanese speaker, with ability to participate in an internal meeting in English

Nice to Have

    • Experience with CRM or Content Management solutions
    • Experience with Veeva
    • Experience in life sciences
    • Previous P&L responsibility
