The Role

Veeva Systems is looking for a Director - Testing Automation (Infra & Shared Services) –who will contribute to organization building and oversee the day-to-day delivery of mission-critical Vault applications.  This is a hands-on position for delivering a quality test automation suite along with managing teams of talented and enthusiastic engineers who are remotely located.

What You'll Do

    • You would be responsible for managing teams of managers and/ or team leads in the field of test automation and quality assurance.
    • Coach, mentor, and develop managers to build and retain high-performing teams.
    • Effectively communicate the organization's vision, goals, and strategies to manager-level teams.
    • Translate organizational objectives into actionable plans for manager-level teams and ensure their successful execution.
    • Create a supportive and inclusive work environment where managers feel empowered to contribute their ideas and expertise.
    • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to managers for their professional growth.
    • Resource planning and allocation to optimize team productivity and achieve strategic objectives.
    • Drive organizational change initiatives related to process improvements, technology adoptions, or organizational restructuring.
    • Capability to facilitate cross-functional collaboration and coordination between different teams, stakeholders & geographies.

Requirements

    • 15+ years of experience in quality assurance/ DevOps with a focus on test automation in a product-based organization. Including 5+ years of management experience managing managers.
    • Ability to articulate complex technical concepts and ideas in a clear and concise manner to both technical and non-technical audiences.
    • Strong decision-making skills to make informed choices regarding resource allocation, project prioritization, and strategic investments.
    • Capability to analyze risks and benefits associated with different courses of action and make decisions that align with the organization's objectives.
    • Proven ability to foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within manager-level teams.
    • Proficiency in test automation frameworks such as Selenium, Appium, or similar tools.
    • Strong programming skills in languages commonly used in test automation such as Java or Python.
    • Knowledge of CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment) pipelines and tools such as Jenkins, Travis CI, or GitLab CI.
    • Experience with version control systems like Git.
    • Understanding of containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
    • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
    • Ability to write efficient and maintainable automated test scripts and be able to provide feedback to the team on best practices
    • Knowledge of software development methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, or Kanban
