What is the job?

A Project Manager at Velsera must be a skilled team leader with strong negotiation and influencing skills, be able to work independently, handle multiple programs in parallel, and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and external partners and clients. 

What will you do?

    • Assume primary project manager role on small to large projects/programs with a multidisciplinary technical scope in the field of clinical software development or clinical genomics.
    • Provide management and leadership skills to drive execution on project goals.
    • Collaborate cross-functionally, across sites, and with third-party contractors to create, execute and communicate overall project plans (scope, schedule, staffing plans, quality, risk management, budget, and procurement) and revise them appropriately to meet changing project needs and requirements.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for the transfer of project related materials and information between PierianDx and its partners.
    • Adhere to the change management process, escalation procedures, and process controls as defined.
    • Work with resource managers to meet project staffing plans.
    • Identify plan improvements and communicate them to the team and stakeholders to ensure project goals are in alignment with business objectives. 
    • Continuously analyze and manage risks to enable successful project completion. 
    • Lead project review and report status to the executive approval committee.
    • Identify and resolve or escalate project issues, facilitate trade-off decisions, and remove obstacles.
    • Ensure product development efforts adhere to internal processes and design control standards. 
    • Ensure marketing and sales activities adhere to specified requirements and timelines.
    • Schedule and lead project reviews with an executive approval committee. 
    • Assist in defining and optimizing project management and development processes, methodologies, and tools to improve organizational efficiency and effectiveness. 
    • Contribute to product development process or PMO function improvement initiatives.
    • Apply best practices and knowledge of internal/external business challenges to improve products.
    • Support Functional and Technical Directors to develop systems and controls to ensure compliance with quality standards.

What do you bring to the table?

    • Expert at project scheduling using MS Project, including dependencies and critical path determination and optimization. 
    • Command of project budget management. 
    • Expert at resource scheduling. 
    • Sound grasp of the key business drivers and considerations in the clinical software industries. 
    • Ability to identify key issues, motivate and empower others to address them in a way which builds morale, generates ownership and commitment. 
    • Successful track record of bringing new technology solutions/products to market. 
    • Comfortable applying basic principles of Design For Six Sigma to a project. 
    • Command of most topics in the PM Body Of Knowledge (PMBOK). 
    • Preferably knowledge of  FDA and CE-IVD regulated product development processes.
    • Preferably a Bachelor’s degree in life sciences or related field, with advanced degree preferred. 
    • Typically requires a minimum of 2 years of product management experience in a clinical software or life science industry. 
    • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification (preferred).
    • Lean/Six Sigma (Black Belt) Certification (preferred).
