What is the job?
The Scientific Lead, Medical Center of Excellence at Velsera is a skilled scientist with a strong molecular and cancer biology background who loves to learn about and talk about science in medicine. The Scientific Lead will be part of our Medical Center of Excellence team, where they will collaborate across scientific and commercial teams to educate our customers, partners, prospects, and our own employees on the power of Velsera’s medical insight and research enablement tools. The Scientific Lead will write scientific and commercial-facing documents and create other content to represent the value of our clinical Knowledgebase and our clinical reporting solutions to the molecular ‘omics market.
What will you do?
- Lead and participate in the writing of scientific abstracts, manuscripts, and whitepapers based on features of the Velsera Knowledgebase and on the clinical and research laboratory usage of our platforms
- Create content for marketing and presentation materials to support product launches, webinars, presence at scientific conferences, and other marketing campaigns for Velsera’s clinical knowledge and reporting solutions
- Collaborate with Velsera’s product marketing team to provide expertise on Velsera’s clinical knowledge and reporting solutions in support of market analysis, positioning, and outreach activities
- Maintain an understanding of Velsera products, features, and product roadmaps, and their value to our customers—in particular, Velsera’s clinical Knowledgebase and its function in Velsera’s clinical reporting solutions
- Exhibit thought leadership among Velsera’s Medical Department scientists, particularly with respect to the value of Knowledgebase content and clinical reporting solutions to the market
What do you bring to the table?
- PhD in molecular biology or related field, with cancer biology/genetic disease knowledge and 4+ years of experience in clinical genomics-related field or similar, or Masters degree in molecular biology or related field, with cancer biology/genetic disease knowledge and 6+ years of experience in clinical genomics-related field or similar
- Data analytic aptitude, including the ability to synthesize and visualize datasets to convey clear conclusions, using spreadsheet and graphing tools or similar
- Excellent writing skills with an engaging style and a knack for compelling and persuasive prose
- Clear and confident oral communication skills for internal scientific/commercial collaborations and potentially for external communications and presentations
- Strong work ethic: exhibit ownership of work, take initiative to pursue clarity for doubts in assigned projects, and produce a high quality work product
- Comfort working across groups and departments to drive successful outcomes without hierarchical project leadership
- Excitement for genomic medicine and its transformative potential in healthcare that shines through in your communications
- Readiness to learn about Velsera's product strengths and to become an expert on the users of Velsera's clinical and research 'omics platforms
- Adherence to Velsera’s core values
- Availability to collaborate with US-based colleagues during India Standard Time weekday evening hours
