DETAILS
 
The Senior Accountant position will assist the Director of Finance in monthly close, year-end audit, and processes/system implementation for GPX and Venn Biosciences (a subsidiary located in Malaysia) to support next stage of growth. He/she will support the Director of Finance in the management of the accounting operations, and the day-to-day accounting processes for the Philippine and Malaysia subsidiaries. The person must be comfortable taking ownership, and works with our U.S. headquarters in preparing accurate consolidated financial statements in accordance with the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) in the U.S.

RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Record cash account journal entries and perform monthly bank reconciliations
    • Prepare journal entries for month-end close including accounts such as Cash, Prepaid, Fixed Assets, and Accruals
    • Perform monthly Balance Sheet account reconciliations
    • Maintain fixed asset ledgers, including additions, disposals, and depreciation
    • Prepare cost allocation journal entries for month-end close
    • Perform Accounts Payable and Disbursement cycle functions
    • Assist in preparation of account reconciliations and schedules for annual financial audit and answer auditor’s inquiries
    • Perform any ad hoc projects requested by the Management
    • Improve and maintain high quality month-end closing process and workflows

QUALIFICATIONS

    • Proven experience (5 to 8 years) as Senior Accountant or other similar position
    • Full cycle experience with month-end close and account reconciliations required
    • Experience working with U.S. headquarters and sufficient knowledge of U.S. GAAP
    • Bachelor’s Degree required
    • Proficiency in Excel
    • Knowledge of advanced accounting
    • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
    • Knowledge of fixed assets management
    • Experience evaluating and analyzing technical accounting transactions
    • Excellent interpersonal skills
    • Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and meet deadlines
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Experience with NetSuite accounting system is required
    • Ability to work with minimum supervision to complete assignments and projects
    • CPA preferred, but not required
