The Role: Early Career Program Manager

We are a hypersonic transportation startup focused on doing what people once thought was impossible. As a startup, we’re approaching talent differently. Our plan is to start early, build effective programs, and form the right relationships from the get-go. This is where your expertise and philosophies about talent fits in perfectly.

What You’ll Get to Do:

Impact the Company:
We want you to design and manage early career programs and workflows, including our intern program and academic/community outreach. Your efforts will proactively promote our brand, design and execute best in class recruiting strategies to attract diverse and high caliber early career talent to the organization, creating a distinctive experience for candidates, hiring managers, and external partners. Your direct recruiting efforts will critically impact the organization’s ability to execute our world changing mission.

Impact the Next Generation:
You will design and implement the intern and early career development journey at Venus to equip less experienced employees with the skills and knowledge to immediately impact the organization in tangible ways. Your guidance and mentorship will shape the longterm careers of the next generation of aerospace leaders. By developing strategic relationships with key universities, you will influence the quality and utility of their curriculum for Venus and the broader industry.

Impact the Employment Brand:
You will gain an in-depth knowledge of our products then work closely with marketing and communications to ensure our early career recruiting efforts nourish our brand and strategic talent planning. Manage marketing efforts on various social media platforms and recommend strategies/changes when campaigns need refreshing (or a complete redo).

Impact the Candidate Experience:
You will bring early career candidates through the entire hiring process, helping to create a seamless and positive candidate experience. You will have the opportunity to promote the company, culture, role, and technology to a diverse audience of early career talent. Referrals are a strong part of our culture, and you will also manage referrals and create new ways to engage with candidates.

What You Have:

    • You know how to create, execute, and manage successful early careers programs that leave other companies and recruiters in awe.
    • Serve as our point of contact for all things early career recruiting and development related so we know which way is up, down, left and right (and sometimes backwards and inside out)
    • Advise us on campus and selection strategies, community/academic outreach efforts
    • Mastery of job postings and program management
    • Fluency leveraging technology to accelerate output -  social media platforms, project management tools, ICTs (information-communication technology), and ATSs (applicant tracking software) are a few of the many tools in your wheelhouse
    • Strong understanding of academic and community outreach – we’re looking to you to be the subject matter expert in early career recruiting programs
    • Mastery of the seamless candidate and hiring manager/team experience
    • Full cycle recruitment experience – sourcing to offer
    • High level of comfort working collaboratively and partnering with teams across departments, as it takes a team to go hypersonic.
    • Flexibility and the ability to adapt quickly to shifting marketplace dynamics and company or team goals. You never know when a breakthrough is going to happen or a new opportunity is going to arise
    • We have lots to do - ability to manage multiple deliverables simultaneously and proactively communicate changes to plans and/or roadblocks
    • We are trusting your communication and influencing skills are amazingly effective
    • And of course, conduct all activities with the highest integrity and work ethic

What Will Set You Apart:

    • Bachelors' degree with a concentration in HR, Business or related field
    • Passion for rockets, planes, hypersonic travel…basically things that go incredibly fast at the edge of the Earth’s atmosphere and outer space
    • Financial acumen – we all watch how we spend our money
    • Military experience - critical thinking and strategy will help guide this role
    • Curiosity – thinking and sharing different ways to help us grow; don’t be afraid of pushing boundaries or challenging conventional thinking.
