The Opportunity
We’re looking for an Engineering Manager to lead our Veo Play mobile team. This team owns a key part of Veo’s mobile platform, delivering high-quality, user-friendly mobile apps that connect players, parents, and supporters to their teams and moments on the field. You will lead efforts to create seamless, engaging, and reliable native mobile experiences that are central to how users interact with Veo’s products. This is a highly visible, user-facing space where the mobile experience plays a vital role in enhancing connection, celebration, and participation across the Veo community.

What You Will Do
- Hire, coach, and develop a high-performing engineering team, creating an environment where people can do the best work of their lives.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and engineers to deliver experiences that delight coaches, players, and supporters, while meeting business objectives.
- Lead your team through the full product lifecycle ideation, development, deployment, and monitoring while leveraging customer feedback to iterate and improve.
- Optimize Veo’s development practices for stability, scalability, performance, and rapid delivery.
- Ensure high performance, security, and scalability in software development.
- Shape Veo’s architecture and technical landscape, contributing to a maintainable and scalable platform.
- Participate actively with other engineering leaders to define and propagate best engineering practices across the organization.
- Champion sustainable engineering practices, including clean code, testing strategies, and automation.
What You Could Bring
- 4+ years of experience in software engineering with exposure to mobile development in fast-growing environments.
- 2+ Leadership experience managing and growing engineering teams.
- Strong expertise in iOS and/or Android development, mobile architecture patterns, release processes, real-time data flow, and mobile app security.
- Familiarity with backend systems, cloud services, mobile backend architecture, data synchronization, and security and compliance best practices.
- Hands-on engineering background with a deep appreciation for clean, maintainable, and scalable code.
- An eye for system design and architecture, with the ability to weigh trade-offs and make pragmatic decisions.
- A collaborative mindset, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver the best outcomes.
- A growth mindset and a passion for coaching and supporting engineers’ career development.
- Obsession with creating outstanding customer experiences through technical excellence.
- Experience with automated testing practices, CI/CD pipelines, and ensuring performance at scale.
- Comprehensive verbal and written English communication skills.
