Based in Grenoble (France), we have recently started operations our Verkor Innovation Centre (R&D centre and 4.0 pilot line).

We now focus on building the world’s most modern and efficient Gigafactory in Dunkirk (France). With this facility, our ambition is an initial annual production of 16 Gwh of lithium-ion batteries by 2025, thus powering 300,000 electric vehicles annually.

Responsibilities :

    • As a Module Design Engineer, you will work on the conception, design, development, prototyping and industrialization of battery module components and assemblies.
    • You will be involved in:
    • Defining requirements for components
    • Design in CAD/CAO and drawings
    • Developing battery module design concepts
    • Selection of materials
    • Working with suppliers to source and develop components
    • Design for manufacturing and assembly
    • Supporting prototype builds
    • Testing of components, materials and innovative designs
    • Managing and supporting suppliers through industrialization of components
    • You will also have the opportunity to:
    • Gain a greater understanding of battery cell manufacturing and design
    • Work in a hands-on R&D environment 

Prerequisites :

    • Experience in mechanical design of components (automotive, aerospace or equivalent industries)
    • Experience in CAD/CAO (Catia, Solidworks or equivalent)
    • Strong mechanical aptitude
    • Experience in design for manufacturing and assembly
    • Understanding of common manufacturing process (machining, stamping, injection moulding, casting, welding or similar)
    • Professional English level (a large part of the team doesn’t speak French and the company communication are done in English)
    • Ability to work independently
    • Strong communication to discuss complex topics both internally and with external suppliers and partners
    • Experience with electrical assemblies is a plus (PCB, FPC etc.)
    • Experience with batteries is a plus
    • Experience in automotive is a plus
