Description of the job :

    • The Direct Material Senior commodity manager is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring direct materials required for battery manufacturing. This role ensures the continuous supply of high-quality materials at competitive prices, while maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and adhering to Verkor policies meanwhile pioneering the next generation of industry standards.

Responsibilities :

    • Competitive :
    • Sourcing and Procurement: Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and secure the best terms for price, quality, delivery and EHS.
    • Cost Management: Monitor market trends & geopolitics to identify cost-saving opportunities.
    • Conduct cost analysis and implement cost reduction initiatives.
    • Reporting: Prepare and present sourcing reviews at tactical & strategical level,  including key performance metrics.
    • Resilient :
    • Supplier Performance: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, conduct performance reviews, and manage supplier performance improvement activities.
    • Define tactics and strategy to ensure uninterrupted deliveries
    • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as engineering, production, and quality assurance, to align sourcing strategies with overall business goals.
    • Responsible :
    • Compliance: Ensure all procurement activities comply with purchasing guidelines, and relevant regulations.
    • Sustainability: Promote sustainable procurement practices and work with suppliers to improve their environmental and social performance as well as their full alignment to Verkor Code of conduct.
    • Ethical Sourcing: Ensure that all materials are sourced ethically and responsibly, adhering to industry standards and company policies.

Requirements :

    • Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 8 years of experience in procurement, preferably in the battery or related industries.
    • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Knowledge of market trends, supplier evaluation, and cost analysis.
