We now focus on building the world’s most modern and efficient Gigafactory in Dunkirk (France). With this facility, our ambition is an initial annual production of 16 Gwh of lithium-ion batteries by 2025, thus powering 300,000 electric vehicles annually.

We have an exciting opportunity as Cathode Material Engineer in our Product Development Team. In this role, you are responsible for leading the development of cathode material for Verkor's products.
 
You are embracing the objective of building and structuring Verkor as the most advanced battery manufacturing company in the world.

Responsibilities

    • To lead the development of cathode material
    • To specify the cathode material characteristics based on Li-ion cell requirements
    • To support the selection of cathode active material
    • To support the electrode engineer in charge of the cathode electrode formulation
    • To build the supplier's network for cathode active material
    • To ensure a survey of new technology for cathode active material
    • To support the technology roadmap

Requirements

    • MSC or Ph.D. in Materials Science
    • At least 3 years experience in relevant field
    • Experience in Li-ion cell development
    • Cathode material research and development
    • Experience with the synthesis and mass-production of Li-ion active materials (Ni-rich NMC) would be a plus
    • Experience with Li-rich cathode material would be a plus
    • DFMEA, PFMEA, root-cause analysis
    • APQP, 4M management
