THE ROLE
At Fora, we are reimagining the future of online communities, and are looking for an enthusiastic Senior Manager of People to lead talent management and organizational development programs. This unique opportunity is perfect for an experienced HR Manager or HR Generalist who is passionate about employee experience, process improvement, and operational excellence. As the Senior Manager of People at Fora, you will play a pivotal role in shaping Fora's success by overseeing the development and execution of Fora’s HR strategies. This key position will be responsible for Fora’s compensation structure & total rewards programs, onboarding, employee surveys, performance reviews, and employee relations. You will report to the CEO of Fora and work closely with leaders across all Fora functions, and interact with other business units as needed to share best practices. You will coordinate as needed (including onboarding and offboarding) with the HR Director of Fora’s parent company VerticalScope Holdings (Group-level) (“Holdings”). WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Conduct comprehensive compensation analysis to ensure Fora's compensation structure remains competitive and aligned with industry standards, including bonus and equity stock programs. --- Implement and maintain effective benchmarking strategies to attract and retain top talent. Assist with benefits administration as needed, in coordination with Holdings.  
- Design and oversee a robust performance review, merit increase, and promotion process that aligns with the Fora's goals and values. Advise leadership on performance management, internal mobility, employee development, succession planning, and terminations, in coordination with Holdings.  
- Implement a welcome onboarding program. Collaborate with all hiring managers to coordinate Fora-wide orientation and assist with department-specific orientations.
- Create, administer, and evaluate annual employee surveys. Make actionable recommendations to leadership based on employee survey results. Communicate survey results and leadership decisions to all participants.
- Partner with Fora leadership to identify talent gaps and develop strategies for talent acquisition. Work closely with managers to identify and support high-potential employees.
- Implement initiatives for talent retention, including employee engagement programs, work anniversary celebrations, and professional development opportunities. Conduct exit interviews and share actionable feedback with leadership and Holdings.
- Serve as a strategic business partner to Fora leadership, providing insights and guidance on personnel decisions. In coordination with Holdings, advise appropriate personnel actions aligned with HR laws and regulations in the US and Canada, ensuring the company's policies and practices are compliant.
- Collaborate with department heads to understand their needs and align HR strategies with Fora's objectives. Provide relevant HR metrics and reports to inform leaders and make data-driven decisions.
- Streamline HR operations and processes with smart utilization of current HR software and tools, in coordination with Holdings.  Recommend applicable HR software and tools as the company scales.

ABOUT YOU
- Seven years of experience in a similar HR or People role in consumer Internet, technology, or a related industry
- Expertise in compensation analysis and benchmarking for highly technical roles such as Software Engineers, Product Managers, and Designers
- Experience in creating compensation philosophy for remote, hybrid, and/or onsite employees across various locations and pay tiers in both the US and Canada
- Skilled in developing technical job ladders and career paths, advising and facilitating decisions and discussions about internal mobility, performance management, hiring, and promotions
- Knowledgeable of HR laws and regulations in both the US and Canada
- Strategic mindset with the ability to align HR initiatives with business goals
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels, both in-person and virtually
- Demonstrated experience in performance management, survey administration, employee relations, employee engagement, talent development
- Proficient in Google Workplace and Slack or similar communication, collaboration, or productivity software
- Proficient in generating reports from spreadsheets, HRIS, applicant tracking systems, and performance management software
- Ability to travel to Canada and the US periodically


YOU’RE A GREAT FIT IF YOU ALSO HAVE
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree and relevant certifications such as PHR, SPHR, or CPHR are a plus.
- Experience with our HR tech stack: Lever (ATS), BambooHR (HRIS), Lattice (Performance Management), Mercer salary data
- 0-1 experience at a startup. For example, being the first and only Head of People/Talent and scaling compensation philosophy and talent strategy as the company grew.
$110,000 - $155,000 a year
