OUR COMMUNITIES
We focus on hyper-specific subjects that engender strong affinity from online communities of enthusiasts, super fans, experts, pros, hobbyists and armchair analysts. Examples include TheStreamable, HomeTalk, RedFlagDeals, Fixya, RateMDs, VarageSale, a number of popular Fitness sites and a substantial portfolio of forum communities across many verticals including ArcheryTalk, AVS Forum, BimmerFest, Knitting Paradise and WatchUSeek. We have dedicated communities for watch geeks, audio nerds, motorheads, fitness-obsessed, mountain bikers, DIYers, deal junkies and enthusiasts of hundreds of additional topics. We maintain separate brands for each of our communities.
We have built our business through a combination of acquisitions and organic initiatives. We believe that adding communities to our platform through acquisitions is an efficient use of capital as it allows us to grow the number of MAU we reach while providing acquired communities with improved technology, user experience and monetization capabilities. We have made over 230 acquisitions in our history and we believe that acquisitions will be an important driver of our future growth. VerticalScope operates one of the 10 largest online community platforms.
THE ROLE
As Senior Developer, you will collaborate with our engineers, product managers, and designers to help operate, improve and grow our portfolio of successful communities and businesses.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Work with cross-functional teams to operate and grow a world-class portfolio of businesses
Work across several popular web properties including RedFlagDeals and TheStreamable
Write readable, maintainable, testable code
Work with our world-class Ad Tech team to implement and grow programmatic advertising systems for our portfolio
Other related responsibilities and ad hoc projects as negotiated and needed to meet the ongoing needs of the company
ABOUT YOU
5+ years of experience in software development
3+ years of experience in web application development using PHP, JavaScript & CSS
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
YOU'RE A GREAT FIT IF YOU ALSO HAVE
Experience with online communities, especially forums
Experience with PHP, Python, React.js & WordPress
Experience with Google Ad Manager and Programmatic Advertising
Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Google Cloud Platform & CloudFlare
iOS & Android Native Development Experience
