Via currently operates successfully in a handful markets, and we will expand to multiple markets by the end of this year. As Head of Global Expansion Operations you will lead the strategy and execution of our international expansion plans, and oversee GTM launches in new markets from zero to launch. Post launch, you will work to continuously solidify and optimize operational foundations to create a cohesive and exceptional experience for clients and employees globally.

Role & Responsibilities

    • Work with Founders and Legal Product to build strategy and roadmap for expansion to new countries. Understand key regulation and characteristics of each market to develop a clear view on Via’s path forward specific to each market
    • Build a repeatable GTM plan and execute it end-to-end in each country 
    • Identify and build key partnerships in each country - corporate counsel, labor law counsel, immigration law counsel, accounting/tax provider, among others
    • Own and manage an Expansion budget per market and understand financial drivers in each market
    • Establish fully-functioning local entities in markets and participate in onboarding first clients in market, managing internal teams and external partners to execute and deliver against clear timelines
    • Coordinate sales efforts with Sales teams to build pipeline ahead of launch in markets
    • Work closely with Operations, Customer Success and Product teams to design and execute an operations and implementation process in each market. Post launch, work to continuously analyze, solidify and optimize operations processes, focusing on delivering a locally relevant but globally consistent and delightful customer journey for clients and employees 
    • Work with Finance teams to coordinate locally relevant flow of funds and payments mechanism
    • Juggle multiple work streams across different markets and balance strategic objectives with on-the-ground execution
    • Recruit rockstar Ops + Expansion Teams and manage them effectively towards our vision

What you bring

    • 3+ years in leadership role in Market Expansion, Business Development, or Operations functions at a fast-growing tech startup
    • Demonstrated Project Management and leadership skills, organizing teams against tight deadlines
    • Experience building something from zero to launch
    • MBA from a top school is a plus but not a requirement
    • Knowledge of multiple cultures, you’ve travelled or lived in more than one country
    • Interest in understanding local regulations and contracts
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Inspired to make a difference in democratizing talent across the world
    • Native or perfect oral and written English, Spanish is a plus
