WHAT YOU’LL DO

The Viant Accounting & Finance team seeks an Senior SEC Reporting Analyst, a key role responsible for assisting in the preparation of external filings of the company. This is a highly analytical, hands-on role in a fast-paced environment, requiring the ideal candidate to perform effectively as an individual and collaboratively as part of a team. The Senior SEC Reporting Analyst will be reporting to the Manager of SEC Reporting and collaborating closely with a wide range of Accounting & Finance personnel. This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where your work will be highly visible at all levels of the company.

THE DAY-TO-DAY

    •  Assist with the preparation of quarterly and annual SEC filings, including form 10-Q/K, 8-K, earnings release, proxy statement and other miscellaneous filings as required in compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations
    • Monitor peer and industry filings to identify emerging trends in financial statement disclosures
    • Maintain in-depth knowledge of US GAAP and SEC rules and regulations as well as research and propose company positions on new accounting pronouncements
    • Create and maintain calendars and planning documents to communicate and manage deadline adherence throughout the reporting process
    • Assist in managing the internal and external review of the SEC filings
    • Support the annual audit and quarterly reviews with external auditors as it relates to the SEC filings
    • Participate with the implementation of new accounting and reporting guidance, including technical accounting research and design of new processes
    • Be a trusted partner and collaborate with cross-functional partners to support various company initiatives and process enhancements including internal financial reporting and earnings presentations
    • Assist with the compliance of SOX controls

GREAT TO HAVE

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and CPA designation (or working towards CPA designation)
    • Minimum of 3+ years relevant work experience including public company SEC reporting experience
    • Basic knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting regulations
    • Ability to effectively communicate financial reporting concepts to both accounting and non-accounting partners
    • Experience with technical accounting and/or complex accounting matters is a plus but not required
    • Advanced Excel skills and comfortable learning new systems
    • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
    • Proven ability to exercise sound judgment, manage multiple priorities and work cross-functionally to meet tight deadlines
    • Self-starter who is consistently proactive and has a “figure it out” mentality

$100,000 - $120,000 a year
Base salary range: $100,000 - $120,000
In accordance with California law, the range provided is Viant’s reasonable estimate of the compensation for this role.  Final title and compensation for the position will be based on several factors including work experience and education.
