As a Product Analyst, you will help shape the future of Viant’s product offerings, supporting our mission of empowering marketers with cutting-edge tools and insights for successful ad campaigns. Your responsibilities will include assisting with product research, supporting product optimization and innovation, contributing to data-driven decision-making, engaging with stakeholders, and embracing continuous learning and improvement. Your efforts in data analysis and product understanding will be vital in supporting the ongoing evolution of our platform to meet and exceed market demands.
The essence of service in the Product Analyst role is ensuring that internal teams and external clients are well-supported through insightful analysis and contributions to product excellence. While the role focuses on analysis and strategy, the ultimate goal is to enhance product performance, customer satisfaction, and market competitiveness, embodying a service-oriented approach to product management.
THE DAY-TO-DAY
- Assist in conducting a comprehensive analysis of product usage, market trends, and competitive landscape to identify opportunities and challenges.
- Collaborate with senior analysts, product management, engineering, and marketing teams to help translate data insights into product improvements and feature development.
- Utilize data visualization tools to assist in developing reports and dashboards, monitoring key performance metrics, and summarizing findings for stakeholders.
- Participate in the product feature development process, supporting from concept through launch and ensuring data-driven insights are considered at all stages.
- Contribute to the creation of product documentation and training materials.
- Learn from senior analysts and team members, adopting best practices and insights to contribute to a culture of high performance and continuous learning within the team.
GREAT TO HAVE
- 1-2 years of experience analyzing and interpreting data sets, with a keen interest in applying these insights to inform product decisions.
- Basic to intermediate proficiency in SQL and an eagerness to learn more about data analysis programming languages such as Python or R.
- Some experience with data visualization tools and the ability to help translate data sets into clear, actionable reports for various audiences.
- An understanding of forecasting, statistical analysis, and quantitative techniques to support business questions and product challenges.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the willingness to learn how to provide constructive criticism and actionable recommendations to enhance product features and team dynamics.
- Exposure to product discovery and delivery processes, with an eagerness to learn how products meet user needs and business objectives.
- Some familiarity with the Advertising Technology landscape, including basic knowledge of Demand-Side Platforms (DSPs), Supply-Side Platforms (SSPs), Data Management Platforms (DMPs), and other related technologies.
- A positive attitude towards receiving and giving constructive criticism and collaborative feedback, with a desire to foster an environment where team members feel supported and empowered to improve.
- Interest in strategic thinking and planning, with a willingness to learn how to utilize data insights to contribute to product direction and innovation.

$60,800 - $75,500 a year
In accordance with California law, the range provided is Viant’s reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role.
