WHAT YOU’LL DO

As a Principal, Technical Program Management (TPM), you will drive product initiatives with complex technical challenges to deliver innovative solutions using cutting-edge technology with broad cross-organizational business and technical impact. You will partner with engineering, product, business, and senior management to create world-class technical advertising products and solutions. You will contribute to all aspects of the software lifecycle, leading high performing individuals to build roadmaps, define processes, and align efforts to deliver innovative solutions that solve problems across the ad-tech business. 

THE DAY-TO-DAY

    • Develop and execute project plans to successfully deliver impactful releases.
    • Develop and maintain a roadmap of scheduled projects, throughout the entire lifecycle from intake to deployment.
    • Drive prioritization within the technical organization by establishing planning and governance principles and processes, based on customer impact and business opportunities.
    • Work cross-functionally to manage bottlenecks, resolve escalations, anticipate, and make trade-offs, balance the customer needs versus technical constraints.
    • Ascertain the true requirements underlying feature requests, recommend alternative technical approaches and lead engineering efforts.
    • Understand systems in the ad-tech space, their limitations, scaling factors, boundary conditions, and reasons behind architectural decisions.
    • Drive continuous process improvements by defining, implementing, and refining processes for delivery and operational efficiency.
    • Drive operational excellence, establish, report, and continually improve metrics and program health.

GREAT TO HAVE

    • 8+ years of technical program management experience working directly with software engineering teams.
    • Successfully managed programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules,
    • Experience developing and delivering product and technical roadmaps for large scale enterprise projects,
    • Demonstrated deep knowledge of technical program management and engineering best practices.
    • Deep knowledge of agile best practices, having worked as scrum master and/or product owner.
    • Experience building and evaluating system-level technical design
    • Track record of influencing executive leadership through strong written and verbal communication and analytical skills
    • BS in Computer Science or an equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Master's degree in Computer Science or related field a plus.

Compensation

    • Base compensation range: $180,000- $225,000
    • In accordance with California law, the range provided is Viant’s reasonable estimate of the compensation for this role.  Final title and compensation for the position will be based on several factors including work experience and education.
