Summary/Objective:                                             
The Demand Planner will provide timely and accurate forecasts as a key part of the inventory planning process. This positionis responsible for providing demand forecast planning and analysis and will plan inventory buys at the unit/SKU level against open to buy. This role serves as a key partner with the merchandising and finance teams.
Essential Functions:
·       Work closely with finance, operations, inventory and merchandising teams to prepare monthly demand targets
·       Interact with Finance to assist in monthly inventory cost projections
·       Assist Buying team in the creation of pre-season assortment plans using historical and trend SKU productivity performance
·       Analyze sales and provide promotional recommendations on inventory product movement to maximize sales & margin
·       Provide recommendations for items to go on markdown
·       Analyze Aged Inventory and provide recommendations
·       Responsible for Product Margin improvement through the management of just in time inventory while minimizing markdown liability
·       Create category level quarterly hindsight reports to drive strategic assortment decisions for future quarters and in-season management
·       Manage Department recaps, weekly selling by classification style & color, highlighting best sellers
·       Develop ad-hoc analytical reports and tools to meet the changing needs of the business
·       Responsible for creating and maintaining open to buys to maximize sales & profit on a monthly basis
·       Develop and manage inventory levels in line with Budget and Forecast
·       Analyze all data and create the demand plan based on historical sales, market trends, seasonality, promotions, and inventory levels
·       Analyze forecast based on industry trends, category/product trends and demand patterns along with changes in marketing and sales plans
·       Develop forecasts for new product rollouts and line extensions; generate seasonal forecasts using historical data, market trends and product lifecycle inputs
·       Develop and analyze short term forecast and promotional volume utilizing POS trends, promotional plans, marketing plans, and customer inventory levels
·       Develop and monitor key KPIs and improvement activities that help increase forecast accuracy, improve customer service, reduce excess/obsolete inventory, and improve financial forecasting
·       Develop projects to improve the Demand Planning organization and efficiency
·       Develop detailed bottoms up demand plans with cross functional partners and reconcile with top-down financial revenue targets
·       May perform other duties as assigned in support of the overall success of the company

Work Environment:
·       Works in an indoor office/home office environment, temperature controlled
·       Sit for long periods, standing and walking intermittently
·       Use office equipment such as computer, mouse, keyboard, printer
 
Education and Experience:
·       Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering or related field (or equivalent work experience)
·       5-7 years of professional demand planning/forecasting experience
·       Must have e-commerce, retail or consumer product industry experience
·       Familiarity with NetSuite Demand Planning software (or similar platforms)
