Village Capital is seeking an energetic, motivated, and experienced Manager to lead our US Financial Technology practice, cultivating a strong network of entrepreneurs, investors, and experts to continually engage in the firm’s programs.  The Manager will lead Village Capital’s efforts to find, train and fund entrepreneurs building FinTech-based businesses solving some of the world’s most pressing challenges.

The role has four core functions:

Manage Village Capital’s Financial Technology practice

In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all activities within Village Capital’s Financial Technology practice, leading a team to recruit the highest potential entrepreneurs expanding access to financial services in the US and delivering programming and support that develop investment-ready ventures. You will also lead the development of curriculum for Village Capital’s entrepreneur programming specifically related to financial services as well as manage guest speakers and outside facilitators to deliver content.
You must value the challenge of managing a team of young but talented Associates. You must also be committed to the behind-the-scenes infrastructure building and detail-oriented work that goes into recruiting entrepreneurs, project management, and prospective partner identification and research.
Lead Business Development for Village Capital's Financial Technology practice

You will serve as Village Capital’s primary lead in designing and developing future work in Financial Technology. You will  lead and develop relationships with a broad range of private foundations, corporations, and investment funds to secure the necessary resources to deliver the programs that you have designed. This includes the opportunity to design the framework for new Village Capital partners and strategic partners based on your assessment of industry trends, feedback from entrepreneurs and advisory council, as well as crafting proposals and concept notes for potential funders, leading the sales process.

Build and manage a network of entrepreneurs, investors, and stakeholders in financial technology.

You will manage the recruitment process of mentors, investors, and other stakeholders worldwide, building the best network possible to support entrepreneurs promoting financial inclusion in the US. The ideal candidate will already bring a substantial network of investors, entrepreneurs, and financial institutions.

Establish Village Capital as leading brand in Financial Technology innovation

You will leverage your knowledge and experience in the Financial Technology sector to build a Village Capital’s brand as a leading innovator in the sector worldwide. You will be responsible for crafting thought pieces, such as blog posts and white papers, speaking at conferences, and promoting your work on social media.

Desired Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
    • 7-10 years of relevant business and management experience
    • Deep understanding of financial technology, financial inclusion or the payments industry.

    • COMPENSATION: Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
