We’re looking for a detail-oriented, client-focused, resourceful, collaborative, and adaptable Estimator to join our team and help lead our estimating team across a wide range of projects in a fun, fast-paced environment. This is a rare opportunity to join a start-up with an uplifting mission!

This is a full time remote role that reports to the Director of Estimating.

What You'll Do:

    • Lead estimating efforts for D2C homebuilding projects, preparing detailed proposals that reflect scope, pricing, and timeline expectations for prospective clients.
    • Support occasional B2B estimating efforts, including participation in client-facing calls to present estimates and answer scope or pricing questions with clarity and confidence.
    • Own the proposal process end-to-end, ensuring estimates are accurate, well-structured, and aligned with internal capabilities and client goals.
    • Prepare and manage detailed estimates, including hard costs, allowances, and contingencies, in coordination with internal stakeholders such as project managers, procurement, and engineering.
    • Collaborate closely with sales and operations teams to align estimates with real-world execution plans and ensure a smooth handoff after proposal acceptance.
    • Maintain accurate documentation of all proposals, revisions, and scope notes to ensure clear communication and traceability across project phases.
    • Act as a trusted resource for sales during proposal development, helping translate technical project elements into clear and compelling client deliverables.
    • Partner with the Director of Estimating to improve tools, templates, and workflows that enhance accuracy, speed, and scalability of the estimating process.

What You Have:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field with 5+ years of estimating experience in residential or land development construction.
    • Demonstrated experience in construction estimating, specifically in residential construction and raw land development.
    • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex estimates and construction concepts to clients in a clear, concise, and approachable manner.
    • Detail-oriented, with a track record of delivering high-quality estimates under tight deadlines and maintaining accuracy across large-scale projects.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically to manage obstacles and changes in scope.
    • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
    • A polished and professional demeanor, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build lasting relationships with clients and team members.
    • Comfortable working collaboratively in a team environment, while also being able to take initiative and work independently as needed.
    • Proven ability to manage deliverables with known timelines, thrive under pressure, and meet project deadlines.
    • A genuine passion for the construction industry and a desire to contribute to the evolution of the housing sector.
    • Experience with prefab, modular, or manufactured homes is a plus but not required.
    • Experience working in a remote setting, specifically in real estate or construction, with proven success in delivering results from a distance.
    • Experience working on large-scale initiatives, managing complex projects and teams across various stages of development.
    • Proficiency in Google Suite products (Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.) and experience working with large data systems to manage project information and estimates.
    • Purposefully embody our company values: Build For The Future, Measure Twice; Cut Once, Partners, Not Customers, Alacrity, Mission Before Team, Team Before Self, Treat With Respect.
