We’re looking for a Head of Engineering with experience managing agile development teams. In this role, you will report to the Chief Product Officer and will be responsible for ensuring that products meet design requirements, and deliver a consistent experience for users. You’ll be managing an entire team of engineers and developers, collaborating with the product managers, as well as contributing to the company’s product vision and maintaining compliance with quality standards.

Responsibilities
- Rapidly scale our engineering to build a team that can handle the complicated and various product development initiatives
- Establish and implement short and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures
- Develop career progression plans and inspire learning and collaboration. Create a culture of growth and progression for all Kyivstar engineers.
- Evaluate work performance of department’s employees and recommend promotions/salary increases
- Create overall technology standards and practices and ensure adherence
- Identify and communicate risks and opportunities to the leadership team.
- Oversee research and development as well as special projects
- Lead development and maintenance of the entire technology stack: consumer-facing and internal services, infrastructure, deployment, and monitoring of highly performant and reliable mission-critical systems
- Ensure consistent best practices, processes, and procedures for software development, quality assurance, and maintenance
- Develop and coordinate best and consistent technology and architecture choices throughout the organization to support quick time to market, flexibility, strong customer orientation, innovation, and ability to scale to accommodate the company’s growth
- Ensure security and privacy practices for both infrastructure and engineering is commensurate with increased value and risk associated with proprietary and international data

Background
- Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field
- A least 6+ years progressive experience managing and leading high-growth teams of developers (not a single team). This includes at least two years experience managing managers.
- Proven ability to recruit top technical talent
- Background as a software engineer and a deep understanding of what makes great teams and great product.
- You've led organizations of 50+ engineers and they are better off because you were there.
- You are passionate about building great engineering teams, helping people advance in their career, and strengthening the team through recruiting.
- You build great relationships between technical team members and their non-technical business peers.
- You excel at communication and help people understand why the work they do helps the overall mission of the company.
- You love helping people get recognition for a job well done.
- You are an experienced team problem solver and can continuously coach your teams toward a better state.
- You believe in getting product in front of customers and getting feedback as a key to building great product.
- You're comfortable in a SaaS environment, and your technical background will help the team move towards good solutions to the problems we're trying to solve.
- You have effectively used data to inform engineering, product, and business decisions.
- First-hand experience in building and scaling client-side software for large enterprise clients (we have tens of millions of end users)
- Ability to uphold code quality standards, demonstrated through passion about software craftsmanship
