**Our Full-Time wage for RVTs is $25-40/hour**

Job Overview:

The PetIQ Registered Veterinary Technician position is responsible for providing preventative veterinary services to all patients belonging to pet parents under the support of an employee veterinarian. The employee veterinarian will be off-site and serve as the agent veterinarian representing Pet IQ. The ideal candidate: 

•Is comfortable in high stress situations.
•Has experience participating in treating adverse vaccine reactions to include (but not limited to) angioedema, urticaria, and anaphylaxis.
•Can initiate treatment to manage an adverse event (allergic reaction) while receiving treatment protocol guidance from off-site veterinarian.
•Is familiar with intubation and administrating lifesaving CPR to pets.
•Is competent in phlebotomy and administration of subcutaneous injections.
•Has expertise in safe restraint of pets for wellness procedures including vaccines, nail trims and microchipping.
•Contributes to the professional development of veterinary clinic assistants, monitors in-clinic processes, and adheres/executes Pet IQ procedures. 
•Has excellent communication skills exemplified through each pet parent interaction. 
•Can collect and prepare blood and fecal samples for laboratory testing.
•Maintains a clean and sanitary work environment by disinfecting surfaces and equipment between each pet per Pet IQ guidelines.
•Makes expert recommendations for preventative care services and products to every pet, every time based on pet’s lifestyle and an understanding of canine and feline diseases.
•Promotes a culture of safety in the clinic and lives our values while reinforcing our brand promise with pet parents, partners, and team members.
•Prepares canine and feline vaccines using sterile technique.
•Establishes and maintains effective relationships with pet parents and host store partners perform other duties as assigned.


Minimal Qualifications:

•Must be 18 years of age or older. 
•Valid driver’s license. 
•Must successfully pass criminal background check.
•Must be able to work weekends, varied weekdays and times, occasional overnight. 
•Reliable transportation to and from work. 
•Previous Animal Handling Experience, including restraint and animal behavior. 
•Some outdoor clinic work and activities may be necessary.
•Must be able to work for prolonged periods of time in the field, including 12–14-hour days. 
•Present professional appearance and positive conduct. 
•Punctuality and dependability highly valued.
•Independent judgment and decision-making skills
•Detail oriented, ensuring accurate and reliable work product.
•Strong verbal and written communication skills
•Strong ability to effectively work with cross-functional teams to direct and lead company initiatives and goals.
•Be able to initiate treatment to manage an adverse event (allergic reaction) while receiving treatment protocol guidance from off-site veterinarian.
•Familiar with intubation and administrating lifesaving CPR to pets.
•Able to work independently without direct supervision. 
•Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
•Ability to switch focus rapidly in a fast-paced environment.    

Education Requirements:

•Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT), Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT), or Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) required

Preferred Qualifications:

•Previous customer service or sales experience 
•Proficient computer software (iPad, Bluetooth devices and more)  
•Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills 
•Ability to work within a team to meet team goals and objectives.
•Adept in approaching host location’s customers to educate about our clinics. 
•Ability to adapt to changing priorities 
Physical Requirements:
•Ability to perform the essential job functions consistently, safely and successfully with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
•Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards.
•Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
