As an Advisor and Solution Lead, you will support our dynamic sales team to understand our clients’ business challenges and envision solutions that solve them. Every client is different, so solutions are never prescriptive; while we have developed methods of solving client challenges over the last decade, our solutions are tailored to each client. Therefore, you must be able to rapidly understand the root of a client’s challenge and propose the best solution. Once agreed with the client, you will elaborate the solution to create a fixed price engagement, defined in a statement of work.
The goal of the role is to identify solutions that solve the customer problems but in the context of retaining and enhance DXC services and revenue.
In some engagements, you will be responsible for managing project delivery on engagements ranging from small teams of five to large teams of ~50 staff. You will lead a team of advisors, architects and subject matter experts to deliver the business outcome. You will build solid and collaborative relationships with senior client stakeholders, so you become their trusted advisor.
While primarily a Solution Lead role, our staff need to be skilled and experience at leading or contributing to engagements; most importantly to learn how our solutions work in practice.

Customers are asking for architectures that allow them to migrate to and consume modern platforms in ways that can be controlled yet retain the flexibility they offer. They want to be able to spin-up and tear-down infrastructure when it is required and avoid re-creating the morass of technical debt that currently exists. They want architectures that enable a rapid, dynamic but controlled software development life cycle and operations with a minimum hands-on systems administration.

As an ASL, you will drive engagements with our top customers to revitalize the DXC brand, understand our customers’ business challenges, existing DXC engagements and envision solutions that solve them. Every customer is different, so applying relevant solutions in the right combination is key; while we have developed methods of solving customer challenges over the last decade, our solutions are tailored to each customer. Therefore, you must be able to rapidly understand the root of a customer’s challenge and propose the best options for future engagement.
Education, Knowledge & Skills

- Customer-relevant experience.
You should be educated to, at least, a bachelor’s degree level, or you should be able to prove you have commensurate knowledge, skills and experience. You will probably have a degree in computer science, or one in a scientific field that includes significant information
You will have exemplary communication skills. You must be able to document and articulate complex ideas, concepts and solutions to potentially adversarial audiences ranging from technologists to CxOs. You will be able to personally create compelling presentations using PowerPoint and write clear concise documents using Word.
You will have the knowledge and skills to craft engagements that transcend technology to deliver business outcomes and a positive customer experience. You will be able to provide clear, pragmatic advice tailored to a customer’s circumstances. You will have designed solutions that embed security, reliability, ease of operation and maintenance. You will have targeted DXC capabilities that demonstrate value across multiple areas of a customer’s technology estate to enable future cross-selling of additional capabilities.
You will have an organised and structured approach to program and project management. You will have used many management techniques to deliver programs on-time and on-budget, ranging from traditional waterfall through to agile.
You will have many years’ experience in pre-sales and engagement management. You will have been instrumental to winning deals from hundreds of thousands to multiple millions of dollars. You will have designed, documented and presented complex program, technology and operational proposals up to CxO level in highly-charged, large organisations. You will have led small and large change programs in such organisations. You will be prepared to get your hands dirty as well as work with your peers and the program team to refine and improve our approach and materials.
A significant number of our customers are from highly regulated organizations. While not imperative, you may have experience with large regulated firms.
