About the role
The Supply Chain Analyst & Buyer – NPI & Sustaining plays a dual-role in optimizing both strategic analytics and hands-on procurement execution within an FDA-regulated environment. This hybrid position is responsible for managing end-to-end material acquisition for NPI and sustaining builds while also delivering data-driven insights to support supply chain performance, planning accuracy, and operational excellence. The ideal candidate is comfortable navigating ERP systems, coordinating supplier activities, and creating dashboards to drive supply chain decisions.
How You'll Make an Impact
- Procurement & Supplier Coordination
- Review and convert MRP/MPS requisitions into accurate purchase orders in ERP.
- Track and update POs for lead time, pricing, and delivery confirmations.
- Communicate with suppliers to resolve delivery issues and ensure on-time performance.
- Support supplier ramp-up for NPI builds including long-lead procurement.
- Help manage raw material and indirect inventory to minimize shortages and excess.
- Support receiving, fulfillment, and supplier onboarding tasks.
- Analytics & Reporting
- Analyze supply chain data (demand, inventory, procurement) to identify inefficiencies and cost-saving opportunities.
- Create and maintain KPI dashboards, reporting packages, and audit documentation.
- Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement efforts using Lean/Six Sigma tools.
- Ensure traceability of data and documentation in accordance with FDA and ISO standards.
- Systems & Compliance
- Help support ERP enhancements and planning tool improvements through documented user feedback.
- Maintain audit-ready procurement records and support QMS requirements.
- Assist in supplier documentation collection (e.g., RoHS, SDS).
- NPI & Pre-Commercial Planning Support
- Partner with engineering and planning to procure materials for pilot, prototype, and clinical builds.
- Track material readiness using offline tools and early-phase BOMs before ERP integration.
- Support temporary engineering change orders and materials under revision control.
- Maintain alignment with NPI schedules and readiness through cross-functional communication.
On Your First Day We'd Like You to Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Analytics, or related field.
- 4–6+ years of combined experience in supply chain analytics and purchasing in FDA/ISO-regulated industries.
- Advanced Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, Oracle, SAP); PLM systems.
- Advanced Proficiency in Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP) and dashboard tools (Power BI, Tableau).
- Experience working with prototype and commercial components (PCBAs, plastics, reagents).
- Understanding of FDA QSR, ISO 13485, and 21 CFR Part 11 compliance requirements.
- Experience supporting both NPI and sustaining manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or APICS methodologies.
- Proficiency in developing interim tracking processes for materials and BOMs in pre-commercial or prototype phases.
Salary Range
- $114,000 - $138,000 (Salary range for candidates based in San Jose, CA)
- Compensation for the role is based on geographical location.
- Compensation also depends on a number of factors including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.
