As a Business Processes and Automation Software Engineer, you will develop improvements to our core business process through automation.  This role focuses on identifying key uses cases throughout the entire stack of our business processes and working with other employees to automate and improve them.  You will work with a variety of customers throughout our business to make our essential operations robust, safe, and easy to use.  You will work with a variety of technologies to become a versatile developer, get things done, and improve our business.

Responsibilities

    • Work closely with your colleagues – i.e., your customers – to understand areas for improvement and develop plans
    • Automate and improve partially automated high-stakes business workflows to ensure the success of our business
    • Work with stakeholders and other engineers to design and implement solutions in ambiguous problem spaces
    • Design high quality systems that work reliably

Requirements

    • Experience developing in a Linux environment with a focus on performance, concurrency, and correctness using programming languages such as C/C++, Java, Go, and Python
    • Familiarity with modern deployment and build tooling, such as Kubernetes, Bazel, etc., (preferred)
    • Extremely high-quality verbal communication skills
    • Demonstrated ability to design, develop, and deploy a back-end application given design specs
    • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders with a wide variety of levels of technical fluency
    • Ability to make timelines, communicate them, and deliver on them
    • Interest in the quantitative investment business and an eagerness to learn more
    • Eagerness to work in diverse teams
    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field
    • 4 years of experience
    • Authorization to work in Canada
